Mark Evans involved in Boston bid

Recommended Posts

The money man behind the Boston set up is Spencer Kassimir the Aussie journalist.

The fact that Mark Evans is involved is a big plus, he's a highly successful administrator with a proven track record. I'm excited about this bid.

Mark Evans and Billy Boston are both Welsh.

Nobody's got a bad word to say about Billy Boston.

There again, he wasn't a Cambridge University educated businessman who progressed to running two  metropolitan sports clubs patronised by ex-public schoolboy millionaires. Neither, I suspect does he have a twitter page that proclaims to have other interests in the form of ... " Other loves - politics, music, film, literature, education."

To be fair, he doesn't mention poetry, tree-hugging, aromatherapy  and flower arranging.

Oooh, you can take a Welshman out out of the valleys but ... ;):D

I'll reserve my judgement until Evil Homer has given his thorough and in depth view on it :)

My view is that Mark Evans is someone who has actually been employed in professional sport and not just a random fan.

I've partaken of several of Bradford's premium libations.

However, drunk or sober, the mere mention of the names "Harlequins" and "Saracens" are guaranteed to invoke an instantaneous outbreak of derision that can only be properly fuelled following a lifetime of having a carefully-maintained chip on ones shoulder.

;):D

Melbourne Storm seem to have done OK.

I’m not sure this forum is ready for a heap of 15 page threads on Boston.

It still hasn’t recovered from Toronto’s inclusion.

Where could they play in Boston?

One thing Boston has a large number of is colleges:

http://www.worldstadiums.com/north_america/countries/united_states/massachusetts.shtml

That means plenty of stadia.

Boston 13s used to play at the MIT stadium, back in 2010 to 2012 (happy days).

After our recent financial tribulations, perhaps we should rebrand as the Bradford Pawnees.

My guess is it's Alumni Stadium, Harvard Stadium looks great but uncomfortable.

If you look at his recent employment history it is certainly heavily RL based with Melbourne Storm and then consultancy to the NRL.

Melbourne Storm; a club with a history of double standards. Obviously that's completely unlike the RFU.
