Gigot reinstated

Great news. With the signing of Mead he'll presumably go back to centre which is his best position anyway and what Catalans most need.

He will have to go some to oust Ian Thornley  Great news he is a classy player.

I really feel for Tony Gigot, this whole situation seems crazy. Glad to see that he is free to resume his career.

Best news all week. Gigot probably my favourite player as has that unpredictable streak and some real flair about him.

Travesty he was banned during the 8s and the world cup...like the doping board really wanted to screw Cats and French RL as Gigot one of the best players France has.

I would think now he's back he can play Centre,FB or given the lack of options, he may be pushed into HB.... Not his best position but needs must for Cats.

Hopefully there's more passion with him back. Now for Eloi please!

Is it certain that he will play for Catalans? They had terminated his contract because of his ban.

Will they now definitely secure him? He can add much needed spark to the Catalans attack.

Magic news but surely there are some questions about his treatment over this whole issue.

Great news - a genuine strike option in the centre for Catalan and a delight to watch for us on TV.

if he is back that is welcome news for the club. Sick of seeing them losing they can do better and just need a coach that can them all on the same page because on paper they are a top side.

If he guilty ....

well his ban was reduced from 2 years to 3 months... so I assume he was still guilty of the charge but on appeal the ban reduced.

Would seem the ban was overly harsh not that he wasn't guilty.

That’s about it, but it just shows how assumptions grow on here.

Didn’t footballer Phil Jones get 3 weeks for something similar. So two years was ridiculous especially as there were RU players in France who actually failed drug tests who got less or no bans at all.

Be interesting to see the detail as use of the word quashed suggests it may have been kicked out altogether. Gigot has always maintained his innocence.

anyhow it’s good to see him back.

Signed a two-year contract with Catalans. Hopefully back in the side shortly if he's been looking after himself.

If he hasn't been looking after himself while laid off, he doesn't deserve a Super League contract.
