Denver NZ v England test is "certain" to go ahead

No, tha Aussies expected a metre or so to be trimmed from each 10m area, therefore making every distance marker incorrect rather than just the 30 and 40m being incorrect.

Also, why do you ignore this line from the laws:

For adult games the dimensions should be as near maximum as possible to the dimensions stipulated.

I don't agree with the Aussies about that.  I firmly believe that 95 metres should be the minimum acceptable length.

I don't ignore that other stipulation, I agree with it.  I recognize that sometimes it's not possible though, and at those times a field less than 100 metres long is a necessary evil.  On those occasions, I say that the Plan must followed as stipulated in the Laws.  The ridiculously short goal areas at Old Trafford in 2013 are not in keeping with either stipulation.

Harsh but probably fair. I hope you aren't scared off by the NRL doctor and RLPA about the dangers of breathing oxygen in Denver? Take it easy mate, try and avoid altitude sickness

I have heard they have specialist medical shops that may assist

You guys spent 2 pages talking about field markings. Worry about the 7000 in the stands at a 70000 stadium.

Yep - I tried to convey there were more pressing matters than lines on a pitch but certain posters don’t want to listen to that

There are many pressing matters, and RL's lack of the type of consistent professional presentation which all major sports have is among them.  With the push into the North American market it is more important than before, because the field markings in the Plan contained in the Laws of the game will help the target audience here accept the game and take a liking to it because they subliminally link RL with the most popular sport in this part of the world.  The video showing reactions to highlights includes those correct field markings and the three matches in Denver all will too if the organizers know what they're doing.  As those newcomers to the game tune in the 2021 World Cup (whether on TV or online), we need them to see the same approach taken then to reinforce their connection to this sport.

This isn't rocket science, it's basic stuff which should have been part of RL's presentation long ago.

Whether it’s pitch markings, one set of rules used globally, players swapping nations, clubs dictating the international game ... rightly or wrongly they affect the ability of the game to project a unified professional approach.  Some of the issues are relatively easily fixable and within the games control, some are not.  But we should ‘control the controlables’!

Anyway, love that this game is in US! Really hope it gets a good reception.

My sympathies. And no, I'm not jealous at all.

Just an update on Sales.  Amount of red is slowly growing, so people are buying even though no major promotions have happened yet (hopefully they can kick off after today's annoying meeting on the Gold Coast).

I wonder if they’ll give away tickets etc in the lead up. See no harm in this instance.

Why would a “for profit” promoter give away free tickets?

Looking good. The red lines look like they were scribbled on.

They are. I think Yakstorm has filled in the grey sold dots with red to highlight. He has some serious time on his hands :D

Probably didn't send someone because the risks associated with international travel are too great.

Looks promising, I'd estimate that ticket sales have passed 5k - the block that's almost sold out is about 600 seats. Out of interest how do you know promotion haven't happened?

So they buy $12 beers and $10 fries and $15 sandwiches, and $40 tshirts and $100 jerseys.

"For profit" .

Much of that would probably go to the stadium management company to be fair. England also don't do merchandise apparently.

Sure, but if there's any kind of split then it's more money in. I also bet there's some sort of guaranteed minimum the stadium will get, and any concession sales would go towards that. Usually lots of aspects to these agreements.

Yeah he's a sicko who has been trolling on many RL sites. Has real mental issues, he's had about 30-40 (no joke) aliases on The Roar & keeps getting the chop.

Yeah they are scribbled on to indicate the difference between sold greys and hold greys.

...yeah I've got no real comeback to that... Just a little OCD about seeing this match succeed...
