Three fixtures in this round that are repeated the very next week in their respective leagues, Barrow vs Sheffield, Doncaster vs Newcastle and Hunslet vs Bradford - the latter two at the away team's ground though. Rochdale and Coventry aren't in top form, will they be giving their all in the game as you think the NCL sides will be treating the games like a final. Kells have a long shot in the mud as they would be much more accustomed to those conditions than us and again they will be relishing the entire day. Although we have a majority English squad who would have grown up in these conditions at some point the higher level players don't play on these types of pitches and thus aren't used to them. Similar to football, if you bring a top EPL side to an amateur clubs ground they won't be able to play as well on the pitch because they are used to playing on pristine pitches even though they started playing in the park. This tie isn't being played at either of the grounds used by Kells. It's at the Recreation Ground, Whitehaven RLFC (ie League One). Which, I grant you, is usually a bog at this time of year. Coventry have won back to back games and scored some good tries in both games. They'll be feeling confident but certainly won't take Pilkington lightly. Lets just step back to reality Kryzzy, you are trying to make some excuse as underfoot conditions are going to somehow bring a professional full time team down to the level of a group of men who are totally amatuer because they are not of an abillity to play at any higher level, who in most probabillity train 2 nights a week for a couple of hours after going to work to improve both their fitness and rugby skills. The only place where any levelling will take place is above the ground and between the earholes of the partcipents, the amatuer lads will want to leave an impression on their full time professional counterparts they will give it their all, but they will over the course of the game not be big enough, strong enough, fit enough or not skillfull enough to overcome them, but it will not be for the lack of trying, it has always been and will continue to be the case with these type of games. Using the comparrison of Wendyball (EFL) with Rugby League where the game is predominantly played on the floor and if the ball will not roll or gets stuck that can effect the game and really the physical aspect of the players doesn't come to the fore, is not such a good example to use. I was merely saying that under poor conditions is the only way I could see any chance of an upset. Siddal almost took us last year in our fist game and the weather and pitch was the big leveler there. I'm hoping that Kells have a good run out and enjoy the game immensely, if they get a try i will be cheering for them at my desk while listening to the radio because it's like you and your buddies having a go at Barcelona and scoring goal...you can lose 500-1 but that 1 goal will mean the world to ya.
