Wakefield to bounce back after losing to Wigan although Widnes are capable of springing a surprise.

Wakefield 32 - 16 Widnes

Widnes' good start to the season seems to be ebbing away, being totally dominated in their last 120 minutes of rugby. They may bounce back, but I expect Wakefield will be too good.

An above average Wakefield side to demolish a mediocre Widnes 40 -10.

The above miraculous  Tom Johnstone to somehow score 48 of those 40 points after going off injured after 10 minutes.

Widnes have had a decent start to the season but I'd be disappointed if we lost this.

Up the Trin

Get ready to be disappointed 😜

Seriously though  think we’ll get beat, all the positivity from the start has gone for me - long season again for us.

ive been a fan of Betts from the start, but He needs to sort out his selections and in game management

There was a period last week where our pack was:

Wilde, Heremia, Dean, Whitley, Olbison, Johnson

No size whatsoever, no chance to win the arm wrestle in the middle

Always seems to be our problem - a lack of grunt in the pack....was hoping that our new 2 PNG signings would address that but they've hardly played - has Stanton even made an appearance yet? and now Welly's banned for 2 games

Both teams are scoring a similar amount on average so far this season, but Widnes are conceding more tries that Wakefield. I suspect it will be a tough game, but the home advantage and stronger defence will likely see Wakefield take the two points. I'm expecting a score of around Trinity 22 - 16 Vikings, but I wouldn't be surprised if the score was flipped or either team had a blow away win

Stanton Albert played on loan/DR for Crusaders at Hunslet on Sunday.

As we are twinned with Crusaders we can basically use them as an A team.

Betts obviously doesn't think Stanton is either fit enough or good enough, so he's playing for them for now.

Crazy when we have Dudson and Gerrard out injured.

Bit demeaning regarding the Crusaders.  Hopefully the agreement with the Crusaders is that Widnes advise them what players they have available and the Crusaders play those they want.  Betts obviously sees the players in training daily so he is in a position to know where they are at.  It makes sense to allow Stanton to play for the Crusaders if eg Betts considers that at this point in time throwing him in at the deep end could dent his confidence.

So Stanton is both good enough, and fit enough to play for PNG at the World Cup, but not good enough to play for us when we are decimated with injuries?
