Nottingham Outlaws Secure Permanent Home

Recommended Posts

After more than 30 years of nomadic existence, Nottingham Outlaws have finally secured a permanent home for rugby league in Nottingham. Nottingham Outlaws are delighted to announce that they have acquired the former Greenwood Meadows football ground on Lenton Lane and have moved in with immediate effect.

Lenton Lane is in close proximity to both universities, meaning even closer links to the university teams. It also provides us with long-term security, and further opportunity to expand our successful youth and juniors sections.

For anyone interested, our 1st game at our new home is Saturday 7th April, kicking off the Yorkshire Premier season against Upton.

For more details, see here - http://www.nottinghamrl.co.uk/2018/03/29/outlaws-secure-permanent-home/

If anyone wants to donate and help us turn Lenton Lane into a venue that both Nottingham Outlaws and rugby league can be proud of, you can do so here - http://www.nottinghamrl.co.uk/project-30/

When you say secured does that mean you’ve bought the ground or have it on long term lease?

We've purchased the assets from Greenwood Meadows FC, but have the ground on a 40 year lease from the council.

Is there an existing clubhouse?

Yeah there's a licensed clubhouse, changing rooms, parking, good transport links with the city centre, floodlights, a small training area and covered standing and seating areas. We've been  lucky to find it really!

Great news , was the football club struggling or moved on to another area .

Facilities like this are thin on the ground around the Hull area . Good luck

This is fantastic news. I love reading about things like this and the growing success of other expansion clubs be they semi-professional or amateur like the Manchester rangers, Newcastle thunder, Coventry bears and even the York city knights with their new stadium and future aspirations etc.

This is the only way in which RL in England will grow both on and off the pitch in terms of competing with Australia and NZ by unearthing players from these areas and exposing our game to new audiences who will in turn drive up attendances, tv and radio viewing figures and social media activities etc.

What assets have you acquired if you don’t mind me asking.

Brilliant news but getting there might be a bit difficult as there's no mention of which exit you use from the M62!

It’s a typical comment Oxo like to make again and again. He calls the moaners on the forum but he’s the one who has turned a good news thread into a whinge about fans living near the M62 however light heartedly the comment may seem.

Absolutely brilliant. Rich Johnson and  a lot of others have worked their socks off for years to get to this point.

Grest club and great people. I'm chuffed for them.

People like that don’t get enough credit for anything they do in this game and they need to be applauded for all the hard work unpaid that they put in

very very well done sir !:clapping:
