Awful awful.game. 22 penalties in the game, inconsistencies in refereeing decisions for both sides, players back chatting and too much play acting

The game really is becoming boring

Powells well-coached tactic of having a hand on the ball in each and every tackle didn't work.

We’ll not be far off come September/October.

I’d agree . Cas are doing ok picking up points without hitting their full straps , but Powell must have learned a lot from last year about momentum and peaking at the back end and just keeping yourself in the race . They still have the ammo in that squad to be among it

Just joining in the general fun and restoring a semblance of  balance given the UCP (😀😀) posts from non-combatants.  Thoroughly enjoyed the game.

You're right something needs to be done about it.  The amount of penalties given in recent seasons is spoiling the game as a spectacle and sometimes as a contest.  It's a common concern when talking to most RL fans .

Players are coached to slow the game down, then the Coaches complain when there is too many penalties. The Irony.

So, what to do?

Let more offences against the laws of the game go unpunished? Or make it clear to coaches and players that those offences will continue to be punished, so they should sharpen up their own act and quit whining?

Christ on a bike, how old are you?? 😂

Older and wiser than you, as you well know.

In plain English, Just Browny, who is neither a Wigan fan nor a Cas fan, is spouting his usual tripe.

Keep the game flowing best you can and clamp down on players appealing for penalties on nearly every play the ball.

Clearly it is a yes yes because the ref cowered in front of them again.

It is comedy gold.

Just got home and not had chance to watch it back but, Cas should be really concerned about their 2nd half performances this year.

Only one winner in that 2nd half, Wigan simply better team.

Lot of work for Cas to do but, to me, they do not make the 4 this year.☹️👎

So your solution is victim blaming. Nice!

Having looked back a few more pages, a pretty routine win caused a river of tears. 😢😖🙁

the main reason we are looking so good is that we have gone from having a dozen injuries to having a couple. With familiarity we will get better. Great to see so many home grown players at the heart of what we did well. Best Burgess has played in a long time.

The only calls I can remember worthy of debate were the ball steals and the video replays showed a very high percentage of those were correct.

If coaches insist on picking players who they know regularly concede penalties, they cant complain when the ref correctly penalises them - virtually every team seems to include two players who invarably give away 3/4 penalties a game.I'd use the sin bin on individual playerswho constantly concede penalties around the ruck, rather than waiting until the end of a game and giving a 'team' warning, when often someone committing a first offence can go off.Basically another good game, slightly spoilt by one or two persistant offenders.

Perhaps an answer is to trial the aussie 2 ref system with one ref stood at the PTB constantly saying “just get on with it”

that said many Aussies seem to prefer the one ref system.
