Give watching the women's game a go...

Recommended Posts

I heard about the new Women's Super League only a few weeks ago, when BBC Radio Leeds's Sunday afternoon RL programme featured, in its last hour, interviews with two players, one from Bradford Bulls Women and one from Featherstone Rovers Ladies. They were so enthusiastic, I decided to watch a WSL match when the season began. Last Sunday, I went along to the York City Knights Ladies-Castleford Tigers Women match at York St John University. It was York's home debut in the comp. I wasn't at all sure what to expect but the spectacle proved to be proper rugby league: fast, physical, great skills and big hits. I'll certainly be back for more, and urge any RL follower to give watching the women's game a go. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

One gripe: timing the kick-offs (2pm) of WSL Sunday matches to clash with men's games doesn't seem a good idea. How about a bit of flexibility on that front?
