Here are some suggestions for downtown live music, courtesy of the askto subreddit:

  • Cameron House
  • Horseshoe Tavern, this one's very well known
  • Grossman's

Also check out the website https://nowtoronto.com/ - it has tons of listings.

We are travelling over independently and have not yet sorted any match tickets. Any advice there? Do visiting supporters on packages get allocated tickets for a particular stand? Is it best to buy online or pay cash on the turnstiles?

Game tickets at the stadium = prepare for long lineups. Use Ticketmaster:

Our National Sport has the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto.  Pretty cool sports museum actually.

I went there with my ice hockey mad Toronto cousin many years ago. I also did the CNN tower and Niagara falls with my other cousin. I also was taken to Sainte-Marie of the Hurons, a reconstructed French Jesuit settlement. Bit of a drive there though. Plenty to see around the area, depending on time and interests.
