Someone on one of the threads said it was on the red button.

I hope Thaler doesn’t turn it into The Thaler Show. He might also have to let a few things slip, if there is a bit of bif, sending a player off will kill the game as a spectacle. The crowd will lap up and bit of bif.

Even had to explain to US customs check guy and he actually knew about Denver amateur RL teams being in existence.'

To my knowledge there hasn’t ever been any Denver amateur RL teams.

There is a team called Denver Wolverines.

I’ve been following the game in the States since 2000. I’ve never heard of them. I’ve heard of the other development teams mentioned but not the Denver team. A quick google has a few links but they are from 2011 when teams like Orange County Outlaws and Utah Avalanche were mooted. Neither have ever played a RL game of any note, if any, to my knowledge. The Denver Wolverines Facebook page doesn’t have a single item on it. They may have been a proposal that never happened.

Anyone's guess now how many tickets have been sold. Some pretty large chunks have disappeared, some new areas opened up and the seats in the lower rows in the corners are now available.

Here's hoping for a big walk up (as people try and avoid the Ticketmaster fees) and a great game of football!

Yeah, that was transparent and it's a poor argument.

I agree it's a problem here, but there's a difference between a world cup and a test match. For the World Cup there were qualified and neutral referees available, not sure of the situation for this game - would the NRL release one of their own without fuss given their obstructionist attitude to this?

When Australia plays England there is only one top grade Ref that is neutral that I know of, Henry Perenara.

Australia has already released a Ref to be video Ref. He could have been the on field Ref, hardly a good argument from you.

We all agree with you. You already know that though.

Has there been much/any promotion of this on the BBC? Did it perhaps get mentioned on any WC games....ie 'and more live sport on Saturday..'?

I haven't seen any but they gave it a big build-up on Sports Extra last night. Admittedly, the only people likely to have been listening to it were RL fans, but there couldn't be any fault with the coverage with good interviews with O'Loughlin and Bennett and plenty of enthusiasm from Pyke and Kear.

Tonga - Samoa is just about to start on WatchNRL.com  Interesting to note that the commentators just said that there's much more to Rugby League than State of Origin and how good and important these Pacific Tests and the England - NZ games are. Good squads on display from both sides.

Would be nice to see 25 000 or more to final settle this thing once and for all.

Naff off with your misery and bitterness. Nobody mentioned it because everyone here is embracing the fantastic occasion of spreading the gospel of TGG to USA and looking forward to a well overdue international between 2 top teams, in spite of the Australians best efforts (which makes it that bit sweeter 😉)

I didn't think there has been. Perhaps mixed up with union teams. Most Americans will have heard of rugby, they won't know the difference between the two sports

That size of crown would eclipse the union international games that have taken place this summer which in anyone's eyes must be a massive positive result.

It would also eclipse many of the 2017 WC crowds.

Ditto for 1995, 2000, 2008 and 2013.

Their Facebook page gives 2 PM Mountain Time and 4 PM Eastern, which is 9 PM in the UK.  Allowing for the anthems and haka, kickoff will be shortly after that time.
