HEMEL REACTION

Recommended Posts

Job done in warm conditions. considering We didn't start playing until the 20th minute  not a bad tally in the end.

Started terribly, but a good win in the end. Just hope Miller isn't badly injured.

Only played for 40 minutes really, last 20 of first half and first 20 of second. Did what they needed to do, job done, move on to next week’s much tougher test.

Very hot today, I was pleased with end result, wish we didn’t knock on as often from kick offs, we paced it very well and played at 2/3 pace all game and still won convincingly. Hope the injuries are not too bad.

Pitch will have been rock hard. Invites injuries unfortunately.

Hopefully we’re all good to go for next weeks game.

Started slowly but as so often Wilkes got them going . We are so much better punching holes , going direct off quicker play the balls then working off that momentum rather than working laterally which we did a tad to much at times . Strong platform again and in sapping conditions we showed a good mentality in what can be a hard game to get up for and tried really hard . In periods it came off and in others not quite but professional effort overall and hopefully no serious knocks . I’m a bit concerned in being light in out n out strike backs for bigger tests so maybe we’ll need Leigh to bolster us for games like Oldham and give it everything

Very slow start, managed to get our noses in front and then Penky came on and really got the lads going. Second half died out with the conditions, and FFMM disappeared ( where did he go?)

Leon said he was saving him for Oldham . These are the games now we really really  must start turning up in and hopefully can take a strong squad to give them the contest they gave us here . We’ve talked about it enough it’s got to start happening

I wish we would go feet first when these grubber kicks come through.

To be fair they did little wrong first 15 and it took us a while to get on top. It was good to see us using a veriety of kicks, the chip through for a winger seems underused generally. Job done , points diff improved now the big test ...can we beat a top eight team away?

Tbh I was a bit surprised Eliott played today after being in so much discomfort last week , so I hope he’s not aggravated anything as he’s our main weapon and looking the part

well done lads today. Let's keep this momentum going tough game against Oldham to come.If we play like against Doncaster, n like we did for the middle 40 today. We can do it. Let's get as many fans to Oldham  to get behind the lads.

Thought Kurt put in a solid performance and it was good to see Scott Rooke and Joe Hambley getting a game.Oldham will be a tougher proposition but I felt we could have beaten them at home with a stronger pack and hopefully the lads can put in a decent performance.Hope Lovett can be fit for this one and also have Ben Morris back in and would not say no to Larne Patrick for the next few weeks 😀

Be off to Oldham if we play like we did against Doncaster or even Bradford we will beat them. Can’t afford to be bullied in the pack and now with Morris, FFMM and Wilkes I don’t think they will be this time round as for Hemel.. credit where it’s due people are saying we didn’t play for 20 mins here and there we had 3 tries wiped off. They gave their all so in fairness we just had to ride the storm for a while. The one thing that is concerning is the amount of knock ons from KO

I’d agree on the last three . Missing Caine and big Gordon is massive and Moore and Kurt Maudling are solid who do a shift but we are badly missing that impact threat  and ability punch holes out wide . Also , IMO I think Karl is totally wasted at centre and we really need a specialist strike back in there somewhere.

Thought they had a good variety of KO's; I'm surprised its not a weapon used  more often. Not always easy to stop or control with the foot esp when bounces up at last minute. Thought some of the takes were excellent eg Singleton

Totally agree with this and you often hear it mentioned in commentaries . The game has evolved in so many ways with new ideas but still the vast majority of the time kick offs are indentikit . You see a small few who vary it and I really like it as a surprise , whether it be short , driven low toward touch on hard tracks or whatever
