Ryan Boyle says the Dons have found different ways to win games in recent weeks after the victory at Whitehaven in Betfred League One.

The Dons beat the Cumbrian side 23-14 to extend their winning run to six games, and the captain was pleased with the nature of the display.

He said: “It was a very tough game and it got to a stage where it could have gone either way, we were great defensively and found a way to win.

“It was a game that could have gone against us earlier in the season but over the past couple of months we’ve found a real togetherness.

“We’re going well at the moment and finding different ways to win games, we need to keep doing the business and getting the job done.”

The Dons made the journey north a day before the game in order to prepare as well as possible, and Boyle believes it paid off.

He added: “It was one of the best trips I’ve had during my career as everything as perfect with the stay, we had a good walk before the game which settled us.

“It’s a good few years since we won here so it shows the direction the club is going in and how hard we fought to get the two points.

“There are some sore bodies in the group and a weekend off will give us a good opportunity to freshen up ahead of the Newcastle game.”
