How does an academy match take precedence over a Championship fixture??

They have a better DR arrangement than us 😂

I would think 95% of young players with no affinity to Fev would choose to play for their County,i for one think he has made the right choice.

It's a junior rep game.

If it's his choice, fair enough, but Fev v Leigh would be the better choice for his development & profile.

Are you sure LTS? http://www.rugby-league.com/operational-rules-2018/#p=90

C1:2:13
"...A club may only play a player who is Dual Registered to it after the following deadlines, if he has played 3 First Team matches for that club before the deadline”

a    in the case of Championship clubs, the end of the regular season…”

If there’s one more reason for DR to be abolished, it’s so that me and LTS’s specialist subject on Mastermind will no longer have to be the RFL Operational Rulebook.

They must keep changing that document 🤐 TBH I must have read that 20 odd times and the '3 games' has remained invisible to my brain!

PS it's 5, not 7, games to qualify to play for both teams

Newman I accept, but Dwyer scored all those tries in a game we’d have won in any case, then apparently had a falling out with Duffy before the Fax match, which can’t have helped. Negatively we lost Briscoe towards the end of the season.

Funny you mentioning Dwyer falling out with Duffy before Halifax game, as we were walking into the ground at about 2 o'clock Dwyer was following us in, which I thought was a bit late.

When Leigh are in a similar situation player wise why are they playing so well compared to us. Is it all down to man management?

It's a weird one James! This rag-tag squad appear to have gelled (so far!) where the previous one took too long! Lads like the Walne brothers, Will Dagger and Josh Johnson, have come in and been like a breath of fresh air. They seem far more committed than previous loan players have. Their attitude has proved infectious, and the rest of the squad suddenly seem to be enjoying playing together - bizarre really, when you reckon their pay is 'at risk'.

Since half time in the final Sheffield Championship game, we have scored 136 points and only conceded six. (that's in 2 1/2 games) Mind you, all those games have been at home, so let's see how ell they travel, against far better quality opposition!

Im surprised Steve has not tried to credit the defeat on Dwyer throwing his teddies.

On the squad thing there is also a player welfare issue for the RFL to consider.

It's the RFL who made this mess with D R. ,never should have done away with the A team's.

Disagree, clubs need to take responsibility and we’ve messed up here, no one else to blame for a club of our stature to be unable to have a full squad.

How can you blame the RFL?The DR system is there but it's up to individual clubs whether they use it. Btw I hate it with a passion.

the RFL introduced this system Graham. it's sheeite. I hardly know anyone who supports its use and I can see all the reasons why it was introduced.

in an ideal world each club in SL and those aspiring to SL, should have a reserve team/academy set up. But I doubt the game can afford it hence the dual reg scenario.

We've done dual reg to death Graham. you hate it. I hate it. plenty of others hate it.... some may enjoy it but as my experiences are concerned, those are the minority.

I can't see why we can't develop our relationship with local amateur clubs. Helping them develop their players without them costing the club wages.

I just can't be ar sed

If the club want fans through the turnstile, a great place to start would be getting a full team together.

I know we have injuries. But we have had months to bolster the squad and done nothing.

Wouldn't be at all surprised if fewer than 1500 turned up to watch the omnishambles that is Featherstone Rovers RLFC, 2018

I won't be one of them.

I shall be going as I am trying to help the Foundation. Knowing how unpredictable we are I wouldn't be surprised at a Fev win.

Well after being 50/50 all week on if i will go todays game v Leigh i have decided to attend.Just hope the players treat the game like a must win one and give 100% effort is all i ask. They should want to put on a performance for the supporters who spend hard earned cash following the team home and away.

Everyone feels the same as you. Not knowing how the players are going to react etc. It will be tough with 15 players in the modern game. However its about the performance for me. If Gareth Hock hadn't cut his finger nails just before the bash then the season would have finished differently😊. Sorry Oxy someone had to mention it again😂😂😂

For me Leigh quite strong favourites. Rovers performance poor of late. In a game like this think we will miss Wheeldon who has been our best forward this year - hoping we have 'leaders' on the field today and could be close.

If I had to put my hard earned on to make money would go for a Leigh win by 10 - 14.

Anyway, the suns shining and there's nowt on the telly - get yourselves down!

To support a club only when they are on a high is not a supporter. Be there through thick and thin. Only by supporting them can we move forward. Get down there.

Only 14 players named on team sheet? Looks like you Dakota has not passed concussion test and is out, Jon Davies at Centre.
