REACTION | Howden: team spirit the key

Recommended Posts

Jordan Howden believes team spirit has been key throughout the Dons’ unbeaten run in Betfred League One.

Sunday’s win over Newcastle was their seventh in a row, and the stand-off says they are working hard for each other.

He said: “We were very good in the second-half, we took full advantage of them going down to 12 men and finished them off.

“There is so much positivity around the place, the things we’re doing off the field is what is making us so strong on the field.

“We spend a lot of time together away from rugby, and then we’re all getting around each other in training.”

Howden and fellow half-back Matty Beharrell both scored tries in the game, and the 22-year-old is enjoying have a regular partner in a key position.

He added: “We’ve just got to keep working on it, it’s not an easy job to come into a team midway through the season like Matty has.

“We’ve won seven games in a row and the only defeat with him here was against York so we’re really enjoying it.

“It’s massive to have somebody there consistently, it works for the whole team and people around us learn to go off us.”
