Barrow RLFC have identified two exciting talents that have signed on the dotted line to further strengthen the squad for next season.

Jake Spedding joins on a two year deal from St.Helens to boost the centre position that has been a problem area this season. Jake has spent much of the season with Sheffield under a dual registration arrangement and our fans may well remember him ripping holes in our defence at Craven Park and again at the Blackpool Bash. Jake had a number of offers on the table but he still has ambition to return to Super League and thought the best way to do that would be under the guidance of our head coach, Paul Crarey.

Deon Cross joins on a one year deal and also has a St.Helens pedigree having been released from their Academy team. A short spell at Blackbrook followed before he was quickly picked up by Rochdale Hornets. He has been a virtual ever present this season making 25 appearances and going over the whitewash 7 times. In a struggling team he has been a stand out player and our coach Paul Crarey had picked him out as a danger man  in all the video analysis performed prior to our games with Hornets this season. Deon plays in the three-quarters covering the centre, full-back and wing positions.

Barrow have acknowledged a lack of try-scoring threat in the outside backs, but these signings show real intent for the season to come. Both Jake and Deon are extremely excited by the opportunity.
