How does Baho playing in Elite 2 and beating Salon 94-0 help the league and the development of those young players.

they have a load of young boys who have been released by Toulon RU club, playing for them.

It remains to be seen whether they can hold on to those kids - I would suspect it is unlikely and the majority will drift off to lower grade union. (which will pay miles more). However the club does seem to have a bit of a buzz around it, so might be able to keep attracting youngsters. It certainly won't be easy for them down in that area.

yes for planete xiii (old treize magazine but they can't use the same name)

pia and Toulon where added this year,

salon had registration problems so only had 13 players.

I know little of this division. Does the best side get promoted to Elite 1?

They can, but it is voluntary.

You would think that with Baho in the league it will be the second best team that gets promoted.

Pretty sure St Gaudens were promoted as a long standing elite club; may be Albi did the same without coming top. If any club like those wanted to move up the Fed would wave them through. They encouraged last years Elite 2 champions Villefranche to go for it but declined. The Aveyron club like Lyon too would be welcomed back.

Fears about Minervois maybe but decent result here at Ferrals on opening weekend. Very promising  too for Pia and Toulon on debut. Even at this level I count the number of names fielded per side hoping in expectation to reach 17.Early days even for Salon who struggled early on in 2017.

The team that Baho fielded had nothing to do with Catalans U19.

Plenty of older guys and a monster forward pack.

So if the top side declines, I assume it isn't offered to the second placed side.

No teams accept promotion after winning elite 2. I think la Réole was the last team wanting to accept promotion but the federation refused due to them not having the money . They dropped to division 4 in the same season as they really didn't have any money or sponsors to carry on in elite2 never mind elite 1. It's 20000 euros to place a team in elite 1 and as there is no prize money in French rl it costs you to play. It's around 5 thousand to play in elite 2. A thousand for a u19s team.
