Is RL fading away in Yorkshire?

Recommended Posts

Yes.

Green Bay Packers are playing at Odsal to satisfy the approx 3 million NFL fans in Yorkshire. True, ask anyone.

Super League trophy now resides on the right side of the hill.

League Leaders Shield now resides on the right side of the hill.

Challenge Cup now resides in France.

😉

League leaders shield means nothing remember

Well to say I'm taking my 9 year old Queensbury lad over to Elland to play them for a 10am kick off in this weather I'd say definetly not.

Used to work in Queensbury. Literally the coldest place I’ve ever been to in winter.

At the end of this season, the Bradford Bulls are ranked only the twelfth best team in Yorkshire.

I'd say the game is not doing too badly over here.

Winter?

True story, I played for Eccleshill CC 2nd Team up at Queensbury one June in the 1980s and it bloody snowed!!!!! For literally 2 mins and very light but it snowed!

The worrying thing about Queensbury is that, as result of extensive residential development, it is becoming almost cosmopolitan these days.

Even the BNP Councillor now stands as an Independent.

Before you know it there'll be a cocktail bar and people finding out that a neighbour is paying for cosmetic dentistry.

😄

Plus Toronto finished top of the Championship, and Leeds and Hull KR could not finish top of the middle 8s.

Is rugby League fading away, period?

Only if you want to blame TWP or Jeremy Corbyn for everything that's wrong in the Universe.

There is a decline in the take up of team sports which all team sports need to address. They'd be better doing it together but they're all too busy being selfish and taking care of their own backyard, remind you of anything?

It just seems the game isn't as relevant as it used to be. The age of the fan's seems to be getting older with less fans at the younger end.

This is being disguised in other sports but is still an issue.

And Begs a number of questions.

No, and at least one of Oxfords points is valid too.

RU is not too far ahead of us and it's the internationals that prop them up.

RL fans and administrators need to adapt... change... society is different from when i was a youth. And its been changed  by my children and grandchildren.

Its not 'society' thats changed, its not the economy, its not things we make.  Its people that have changed. Its not 'society', or our pay packets or how we earn them. It's what's inside their heads and how they use them that is different.

RL needs to connect...
