The last survivor of the original SAS was awarded France’s highest honour for bravery , 74 years after he parachuted into Nazi-occupied France in one of the most dangerous missions of the Second World War.

Mike Sadler, 98, was made a Chevalier of the Légion d’honneur at a private ceremony in London attended by representatives of the French embassy and former members of the SAS.
