The draw for the first round of the 1895 Cup will take place next Tuesday March 12 at Odsal Stadium, Bradford, following the Coral Challenge Cup fourth round draw.

Taking place for the first time in 2019, the 1895 Cup guarantees two non Super League clubs and their supporters the chance to experience the magic of Wembley, adding to the occasion of the Coral Challenge Cup Final day as fans from across the sport come together to celebrate rugby league.

Eight Betfred League One clubs will feature in the First Round draw next Tuesday and their draw ball numbers will be as follows:

1. Doncaster

2. Hunslet

3. Keighley Cougars

4. Newcastle Thunder

5. Oldham

6. West Wales Raiders

7. Whitehaven

8. Workington Town

The four winners from round one will then be joined by the 12 English Betfred Championship clubs (Barrow Raiders, Batley Bulldogs, Bradford Bulls, Dewsbury Rams, Featherstone Rovers, Halifax, Leigh Centurions, Rochdale Hornets, Sheffield Eagles, Swinton Lions, Widnes Vikings and York City Knights) in the second round draw.

1895 Cup rounds are scheduled as follows:

Round one – weekend of May 3-5

Round two – midweek ties w/c June 3 (clubs will be allowed to schedule their ties for the weekend of June 1-2 if neither have reached the quarter finals of the Coral Challenge Cup).

Quarter-finals – mid-week w/c June 24

Semi-finals – will be played on Sunday, July 28 (unless any of the teams have also qualified for the semi-finals of the Coral Challenge Cup. In the case of a team qualifying for the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup and the 1895 Cup, their semi-final will be put back to either Tuesday July 30 or Wednesday July 31).

The 1895 Cup Final will take place on Saturday August 24 following the Coral Challenge Cup final, which kicks off at 3pm.

One game per round of the 1895 Cup will be selected for live streaming via the Our League app and website with further broadcast negotiations ongoing and to be confirmed and announced in the near future. Details of selected games will be announced in due course.

Tickets for the 2019 Coral Challenge Cup Final and 1895 Cup final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, August 24 can be purchased by calling the rugby league ticket office on 0844 856 1113 or by visiting www.rugby-league.com/tickets

"The 1895 Cup Final will take place on Saturday August 24 following the Coral Challenge Cup final, which kicks off at 3pm."

Great bit of foresight from the RFL that,  at least 50k will have left the ground by then.

How hard would it have been to have it as a curtain raiser?

If the Knights got there then the challenge cup final is just the curtain raiser :-)

RFL have really ballsed up on this one. Talk about player welfare, going to be hard when we're playing in the challenge cup final and then the 1895 cup an hour later

A couple of decent clubs could go out in the next round, win 3 games and were at Wembley.

Hendo (on Championship wrap) has gone for Thunder this weekend. I think he has a soft spot for the Knights and doesn’t want to jinx us by going with us! 😂

Wouldn’t it be wonderful. The least time a team representing York played at Wembley was 1931. Another appearance is long overdue!

Were you at that game Dave?. 🙄🙄

To those of you who are a Premier Club member or above, the club will be sending an email out but Neil confirmed that with it being a cup game it is included in the membership
