Wakefield get impressive new sponsor!

Recommended Posts

Fur those interested in such thing Wakefield have a new shirt/team sponsor called ASUS - don't know much of them myself but having just visited their website they look big to me, a true International brand. No idea on the value of the deal but must be decent because Ambitemp the previous sponsor was considered a coup! What they see in us I don't know but with a stadium to build its a good sign I hope.

"Acting as one of the first large international brands sponsoring a team in SL..."

:kolobok_biggrin: What a crock, and rather embarrassing way of starting a press release.

Edit: but, always good to see another major sponsor on board.

You've honestly never heard of ASUS, one of the world's top PC manufacturers? I know Wakefield's still in the dark ages when it comes to technology but.......

That really is a good bit of business. When i read that original post and saw Asus I assumed it couldn't possibly be the computer giant asus cos this is rugby league but credit where its due! Really good sponsor!

I did amend it to say it was good news. But the release is ######. Why talk the sponsorship profile of all the other clubs down?

Particularly when the likes of Compaq and HP from that sector have sponsored SL clubs before.

100% and that photo is off a mobile phone.

If the deal is worth so much, get a local freelance photographer to come and take one.

Because it s a bit of hype for the sponsor, again ffs does it matter are you that insecure? Incredible level of pedantry even for a forum.

To be fair to Wakefield, this is a real coup.

I remember when we had Compaq sponsoring us back in day, it really felt like we ha a bit of swagger about us! (Being top of SL at the time probably helped with that as well, but still...). I've still got my Compaq branded shirt!

Still, I do agree with DaveT, the press release could use some editing, and a decent photograph.

As you allude to, how good a deal it is ultimately depends on how much they are paying you. But they are certainly a big company and it is an impressive coup for Wakefield.

Good news doesn't need lies as hype. We could list loads of international companies that have been involved with SL clubs over the last 20 years.

Celebrate a great deal for Wakey, it was an unprofessional and chippy release.

Great, recognisable sponsor for any Super League club to pick up.

Well done Wakefield, off the field they are definitely doing a lot of things right... They just need to get someone to write better press releases for them...

This pales into insignificance when  compared with the SL leader's big sponsorship deals ......Cash convertors on the shirt and a nicotine vape branded stadium......
