Club Statement today:

“The club would like to thank our supporters for their patience and support at this time. The Board’s focus as always is to continue the good progress we’ve made against our strategic plan. As you can imagine at a sensitive time like this, the club wants to ensure it is respectful to all parties involved. Therefore, further communications will be made at the appropriate time. Ollie Wilkes, the coaching staff, and the team are all fully focused on this weekend’s game against Keighley. We urge the fans to get behind the team on Sunday as we look to pick up the win and finish the rest of the season strongly.”

The reality is that we move on. The game on Sunday is the main focus now,  I for one will be in the crowd at Keighley supporting what I know will be a bunch of lads giving their all for Town, couldn’t ask for more!

Nothing easy about this game. This is just the kind of game that Town need to prove themselves. If they are not "up for it" for the full 80 minutes, then Keighley will most probably win.

Keighley 'Misfits' are now one of the in-form sides in the league after their defeat of Doncaster on Good Friday made it three successive league wins and they are unbeaten since their opening day loss at Whitehaven. The atmosphere will be electric, with the Cougars averaging plus 1000 attendance figures and the chance for them to finally clear the 12 point deduction start with a defeat of Town.

Town always play better when the odds are against them and this type of match is the best opportunity to prove their worth. No excuse not to travel to support them, entrance fee is £10 adults, £5 concession and free admission for juniors aged 13 and under.

A big crowd behind Town and a win is very possible!

Lingard saying how great the team of ‘ misfits ‘ has done and how they just don’t know how to lose . Honestly you wouldn’t know what to expect , even more than usual . Just hope we get a positive reaction because the last two league games have been unacceptable. Whether what’s happened kickstarts something , we hope so as we can’t be dropping many more games in a short period

Don’t know if it’s misplaced memory but it seems a place we haven’t won that often. I always think of the game in the total mud bath , in a monsoon in the season we won the league and cocker flew down the wing to score

Just want to see the lads turn up, play like we know they can, put this last week  behind them, nothing they do now will influence  the past, BUT their attitudes & actions may influence the way forward. It's a game of Rugby play for the team & enjoy it lads.

By the way a win would be nice!!

Good news, the ‘on report’ referee action from the derby match reference late contact in the 54th minute by Perry Singleton on Phillips was considered NFA.

“ Player comes into contact with opponent as opponent passes ball. Contact is from player’s chest to shoulder of opponent– does not drive or promote body into contact.”

It’s also pretty interesting reading Ollys interview on T & S website talking about getting the players to enjoy the game again. Certainly doesn’t sound as though things have been that good. Hopefully can turn a corner and put in a good performance tomorrow.
