Sound familiar? There are no bad dogs, only bad owners.

Not a great analogy; there are many good and useful things a dog can do besides bite innocent people (sheep dogs, guide dogs, sniffer dogs etc), you can only use a gun for killing.

America. Where it is illegal to buy a Kinder egg, but legal to buy an assault rifle. Where guns are a right and healthcare is a privilege.

You can't import Haggis into America. A damning indictment of their culture.

That's 4 words you found though John. My own word is obscene.

Difficult to know how you can possibly debate with the kind of mindset the NRA and it's fellow travellers have.

Guess what? The NRA guy just repeated "guns don't kill, people do." un- ###### believable!

Gun ownership in the states is declining;

The papers are reporting that gun shops all over the states cannot keep up with demand.
I doubt it is still declining.
Insane.

From their shop, a book called "Why does daddy wear a gun" Presents the story of a young boy named Corwin who has a question about why his daddy carries a gun. Corwin's search for the answer leads him to learn about parental responsibility, gun safety and the birthright of every American child. This is a wonderful book to give to any child whose parents avail themselves of the right to keep and bear arm.

Also on the news, latest poll shows 56% in favour of keeping semi automatic weapons on sale. I have met, and liked, numerous Americans, and yet I sometimes wonder how their minds work.

There has apparently also been a spike in killings with guns this past week.
