With our fan's forum happening on Wednesday 28th September, will the evening's event be recorded to be put on You Tube for the fans who can't make it?

I know Roger the Ram has done this the last few years for the fans but he doesn't seem to come on this forum much these days.Would be good to know what happens next week.

Hey I keep an eye on things here quite frequently just don't have much to say. I kind of like to keep myself out of the little battles that happen here from time to time.

I've Never missed a fan forum yet and if I can find where I have put my recorder it I will be making an audio recording again this year since the fans have requested it. I will post a link here to where I host it as soon as I get it online.

I've found my recorder now so there will be an audio copy of the night. To be honest am glad you started this thread as I had no idea about a fans forum coming up. I have a feeling this years going to be rather fiery.

Now's the chance for supporters to have their say about what's going on at the club,on and off the field.

Another item to be discussed is the allowing of a drum into the ground, this could be interesting.

Boom, boom!

A good night with reasonable attendance.

Was pretty depressing to learn about the current financial situation and it seems that we lose money every time we go out on the pitch! Mark was very honest about the financial side and what it cost to run a club and he reflected on the disappointing attendances this season without blaming anyone...increased costs of stewarding because of a few idiots is very depressing.  I think he said it has gone up by £5-6000 a year after the debacle and our telling off form the RFL..

We even lost 4K on the Big Bash at Blackpool...

What is clear is that if we are to move forward we need more money coming in from US!!  No doubt about it.  Squadbuilder, Lotto, season tickets are all down to us and Mark pointed out that we are still some way behind most other teams in this respect, including the Doggies..

On the playing front it was great to see that we have signed Lucas Walshaw and Mitch Stringer (thanks to the squadbuilder) along with a few young lads who Glen has high hopes for (I know, he would say that wouldnt he).  Many of this years squad are retained but unfortunately not Conroy which I think might be a mistake.

There was also a lot of discussion about the DR arrangements with Hemel and Wakey and the guys sold this pretty well.  Im not a fan but the way it was presented to us last night I think we have made the right decision..

Glen talked about inconsistency but blamed injuries which we all know doesn't help but doesn't explain games like Whitehaven and Oldham where the same teams performed completely differently to the week before.  Whether he can change that for next year is anybody's  guess but the best bit of news on that front  is that they are looking to get a conditioner in for next season.  One might have assumed we had one this season but we didn't and this does indeed help explain why we had so many injuries and why we were so good at throwing away 20 point leads in the second half...Most important signing for 2017 in my opinion.

Missed the vote on the drum because it got to my bedtime but the new shirts were announced and were A for the home shirt & C for the away from memory.

Just because the same players turn out in two consecutive games, it doesn't necessarily mean they aren't carrying knocks from the previous game. I'm sure our loss at Oldham away was in part due to this factor. We'd come off the back of two tough games over Easter, a derby good Friday follows by a very tough one point victory over Whitehaven. Maybe GM was alluding to that factor for the Rams? However with our squad I could understand that, but with the size of squad the Rams had, maybe that excuse doesn't wash, if players are carrying knocks, why play them if you have other fully fit players to bring in.

Regarding Nickd's post about the financial situation at the club. Its probably a sign of the times in sport at a lower level. Too many glory supporters not supporting their home town. There are probably more Wigan,St Helens,Leeds etc fans in Oldham than Oldham fans.Sad really. However me and my son came up to watch you beat us.Result aside,we loved it and we'll definitely be back, cracking ground and atmosphere. I'd be so proud if we could have a ground like yours,it's a credit to everyone associated with the club.See you next season.

Having heard last night's forum, thanks to Roger, think the highlights for me was the heated discussion from a fan and Glenn about the Delaney brothers.

When Mark was explaining how one of the Workington players was earning £40k,wonder who that could be ??

Think we need to appreciate how hard it must be to run a rugby league club.

Have either of the Delaney boys been offered terms or both released?

Both left the club towards the end of the season. The statement was that "the door remains open if they are interested in returning".

Having heard last night's forum, thanks to Roger, think the highlights for me was the heated discussion from a fan and Glenn about the Delaney brothers.

Yep, that was entertaining.  Initially Glen explained that Brad wouldnt be playing because he needed to devote more time to his job. When pressed on the matter however  it soon became clear that Glen felt he wasn't up to it at the present and if he was to make it then he would have to give a much bigger commitment to training and beefing himself up.  My take on this without any insider info was that Brad like most of our guys is part time and needs to earn his keep.  Committing more and more time to the Rams when he felt he wasn't ever going to fit in Glens plans didn't make sense to him ( or me...)

I think we all know that he wasn't ever going to be given a chance after to the demise of the second team so I wish him all the best...

What happened about the drum by the way....

Wow!

Better players > better results > bigger crowds > more money > improvements on the ground.

Let's have a nice ground with no one in it, with a team struggling to compete because we didn't spend our money on players.

And some call the RFL insane.

I think I've alluded to this before that I think Dewsbury had money and had some decent players what you didn't do is forge a decent team out of it all.....

can't think who'd carry the can for that?
