Toulouse in with a big budget.

Leigh in with another season courtesy of delbert.... they won't go up.

London improving....

Going to make top 4 a really big ask...

So then.... shopping list.....

I think Leigh have a good shot of going up this year too.

Sharp has already said he'd only expect about "half a dozen changes, at most" to the squad. This makes sense; it's hard to think of too many from this season's squad that we, or JS, would definitely want to see the back of.

The other thing about the squad this year is that it doesn't really have many "stars", it's been more about team ethic than individual brilliance this year. I'd presume Sharp will be loooking for more of the same. So I'd be surprised if there were any fancy-dan, big-name, big-contract players. A lot of fans were a bit underwhelmed by his first crop of signings when announced last year, but most of them have worked out pretty well, whereas we got very giddy by all the Aussies etc the year before but things didn't turn out as we'd hoped.

We're not in a position to do what Beaumont has done and systematically replace most of our players with recruits from SL or the NRL, so I guess we'll just try and add a bit of quality and depth here and there where we need it. Not sure what the lie of the land is with regards to DR continuing next year but I'd imagine some sort of continuation of our relationship with Leeds as it's worked well this year.

I cant see us keeping Duckworth when his loan period ends at the end of ghis season as he isnt up to championship standard .In all my time of watching the game I cant remember seeing a player make an embarrassing mistake like he did on sunday of tapping the ball and throwing it straight away to the opposition.Anyway that said Im happy with the pack but the centres and definately the wingers need strengthening but I cant think of anyone in the championship of being an outstanding winger?.What I would do is try to get some young super League players with potential that are getting off loaded due to the clubs reducing their salary cap to bring in star players.I agree with a few of you with the thought of buying championship players with the only result of staying in the championship .We need to kick on and improve to the next level but none of us know what spare money the club have for buying players so we will have to sit and hope JS keeps up the good work and improve us which i am sure he will.

If the ormandroyd to Leeds rumour is true what does anyone think about a Baldwinson permanent deal as he is already a Fev "legend" with the possibility of getting Jack back regularly on dual reg. Personally I'd be happy with that

Starting to think Leigh will make it as well, the only problem for us is that it is likely to be at the expense of Salford and with Koukash no intention of walking away it brings a team in to the league with even more spending power than Leigh.

More money than sense.

Its been reported that Koukash is walking away whether they are in super league or not at the end of the year and is leaving the club in the ownership of possibly supporters so theyll be skint like the rest of us .

It defies all logic that moneybags Salford are in real danger of relegation while hard up Wakey finished in the top eight, and have staved off relegation or the refusal of a licence for 18 years. I can't understand how sceptics can say a present Championship club couldn't hold their own in SL when Wakey have been doing a Fev for all this time. The hardest part is getting there, and IMO the only way a club like Fev or Fax could do it was to keep finishing in the top 4 until they have no debt, finish 6th to win the £700K then hold a large slice of it back from the wage bill. Then make sure you look certain to finish in the top 4 again and use that money that was held back to strengthen for the qualifiers.

As premiership and some championship football teams get taken over by massively rich buisiness families from the far East or russia for e.g who pump in hundreds of millions of pounds into their respective clubs as mainly an interest and not expecting to make a large profit it gets me to think why isnt there just one to come into our game lets say Wigan or Saints and do something similar is there absence down to them seing our sport as a backward sport played by mainly northerners or is it how the game is goverened by the powers that be that puts them off because surely the product on the pitch is in my eyes the greatest game???

It depends what you class as "massively rich". At the time he started to get involved with Salford, Marwan Koukash had over 100 horses in training. That would have cost him well over £2m in training fees alone annually, before the purchase price. His well-publicised issue is the RFL not letting him spend all the money he wanted to because of the salary cap.

Also, the other obvious point is that Premier League football is broadcast in "212 territories to 643 million homes and a potential TV audience of 4.7 billion people" (thank you Wikipedia), which certainly isn't the case with SL.
