John Asiata completely vindicated on appeal.
Dunbar replied to Harry Stottle's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
I just had a quick peek at the disciplinary thread when Morgan Knowles was cleared of twisting the arm of Chris Atkin to see if you posted that Knowles had been completly vindicated on appeal. No, instead you typed "I honestly would not mind if some newshound actually reported and screened on national TV the ongoings of the last week with the manipulation of the Bateman ban and this total abhorrent saga concerning Knowles, and show the country just what a complete shambles this game is in". Well, colour me surprised. -
Tries from the Knights NSW Cup game here for anyone interested. https://www.nswrl.com.au/news/2024/03/24/nsw-cup-highlights--knights-v-bears---round-three/

What's the best game you've been to?

My favourite non Wigan or international game was when Widnes defeated Canberra in the 1989 World Club Challenge. -

I was torn between the Manly game at Central Park, the first ever game I attended (the Wigan Saints Lancashire Cup final) and the '85 Challenge Cup final. I think the Manly game was a more memorable event, a night game always provides a better atmosphere and that night was electric. But even though Wigan Manly was a great game, the combination of a packed sunlit Wembley and the wonderful game full of great tries, the 85 game wins overall as the best game I have ever seen. As an added bonus, I was 15 at the time and on the train I sat across from two girls in their early 20's I guess wearing low cut catsuits. That memory is etched in my mind... it was like something out of Charlie's Angels. I try not to think about the fact those girls will be I their 60's now. -

In a sociological study I intend to publish on the mindset of Rugby League fans, I predict that the 'worst game you have been to' thread will end up about 5 times longer than the 'best game' thread. -

1985 Challenge Cup final. -
Pryce was always going to wait for his shot. Ponga is a first name pick for the Knights if he is fit so Pryce would be looking at 6 to get a run in the NRL. And then they have Gamble, Cogger and Hastings as halves options. Personally, I was very suprised to see Hastings dropped for Cogger last round as I felt Gamble was the one that could have made way for Cogger. Neither of the halves last week had particularly good games (they both kicked out on the full in general play for example), but Cogger was probably the better of the two. They have stuck with a winning team for the Warriors game but I don't expect them to win away at the Warriors. Ultimately, the Knights may cycle through the half combinations until they get one that works. I think Pryce and Hastings could be the best pairing and if they continue to prove that in NSW Cup then they will get a chance sooner rather than later.

RL Challenge Cup Quarter Final Draw :

His combination with Bradman Best is important too. The way modern teams are coached, teams invariably have the option of hitting the lead runner (edge forward) or going out the back to the centre/fullback. The problem with this is that if the lead runner has an offload game, the centre is often not set up to take the offload at pace as they have run the out line. I would like to see KPP get the ball and Best or Ponga play some second phase off him unstructured.

I see that the Women’s National Championship is underway in Australia. A quick scan of the team lists show that some of the players are affiliated to NRLW squads but I cannot see any of the star names from these sides listed. Can anyone give a quick overview of the Women’s National Championship and where it fits into the women's pyramid in Australia. Thanks.
