  1. Hit by a massive cargo ship and collapses in its entirety. Astonishing footage, how can a bridge over a mile and a half long collapse as quickly as that? Had it happened during rush hour there could have been hundreds of fatalities. As it is, there were still vehicles on it at the time and a rescue operation is underway.
  2. What happened the last time that took place? (Desperate times and all that!)
  3. Oooh, I don't know, I reckon Hull KR have an ouside chance. (More of a chance than Hull FC, before Worzel gets his jibe in)
  4. St Helens v Warrington Wolves Hull KR v Leigh Leopards Catalans Dragons v Huddersfield Giants Castleford Tigers v Wigan Warriors
  5. Hull FC received no bans, no fines...in fact, not a sausage. That is all.
  6. I'm guessing the post you quoted was just a fishing effort. To be fair, Hull FC have bloodied a fair few promising young kids over the last few years but the club don't seem to be very patient with them and they end up being sent "on loan" to other clubs for "match game time", never to return. I think @Lowedesert will know more about this than me but lads like Liam Harris who scored on his debut v Hull KR at MW in Newcastle but then was sent to York if memory serves and is doing rather well for them some years later. Clubs don't always get it correct, Harris may have struggled in SL but unless you have a time machine it must be difficult to assess how good a young kid will be sometimes. Having said that, Saints and Wigan do indeed appear to have a time machine. Their ability to bring up young kids and mould them into "one in a generation" players like Jack Welsby is remarkable. But, of course, given the option of signing and playing for those two clubs who are consistently successful is always going to be more attractive to youngsters coming through and perhaps they put more effort in because of it.
  7. I'm not willing to condemn Tony Smith yet, he's never coached a Hull FC team before and I've no idea how long it might take to implement his methods. And if you look at the players we had last season compared to this, the heart has been ripped out of the team. An ex player scoring four tries against us yesterday is enough evidence of that. What really galls me is the towel being thrown in by a large number of the players resulting in the blow out scores we're seeing. The lack of confidence, if it hasn't already spread, soon will do and whatever Smith's methods, that will be a proverbial mountain to climb to remove that and start winning again.
  8. Hi Fella, the garbage served up by the team is the one and only reason for my apathy. Quite frankly it doesn't bother me one jot when they play. I always find night matches at traditional grounds have a far better atmosphere than day matches anywhere. Sadly, night matches at Hull FC's home ground have just as poor an atmosphere as day ones. I get the feeling you're not keen on night games for whatever reason but I've traipsed across the Pennines many a time on Thursday and Friday afternoons for an evening kick off, doesn't bother me at all.
  9. I wish folk would stop putting this out there. Pearson saw Radford Immediately after the hooter, Wire at home after another shellacking if memory serves, and told him that he couldn't see any future continuing with him as coach, then told the Sky cameras a few minutes later. So he didn't "Sack him on Sky". Hull FC fans are always accusing Pearson of keeping them in the dark, well, they couldn't moan at the lack of publicity there.
  10. Hi George, the Boulevard wasn't everybody's cup of tea but the atmosphere generated by the crowd was unreal. Two games spring to mind for me, the 1979 Floodlit Trophy Final and the 1982 game v Australia. Both games were sell outs if memory serves and the noise was unbelievable. During the successful period of the early to mid eighties, when leaving the ground towards the Airlie Street car park, you could just about lift your feet off the ground and still be carried along with the crowd after a game. Fantastic memories. I have none like that from the 22 years at the new ground.
