Worrying developments once again. The contractor for the new ground has withdrawn, and it is this development that the former chairman most strongly opposed. Add to this some uncertainty arising about the identities of the backers of the new consortium, with sugestions being made that it could simply be the previous regime in a new guise.

Let's hope it all gets sorted out successfully - we need York back in the RL.

York council are a joke, poor york fans

Why , what should they have done ?

Homer: How is education supposed to make me feel smarter? Besides, every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff out of my brain. Remember when I took that home winemaking course, and I forgot how to drive?

Check your research - it isn't the council who are at fault.

Jimmy it's not York council that's to blame for this.

Is it really that clear cut???

It appears the previous owner was clearly difficult to deal with ..... but who was it that evicted them from the old stadium on Jocky Lane .... who was going to build the new community stadium ...  when was it due to be built ... and when will it actually be built??   .... I think a lot of these answers can only come from the council!!!  ....  I really hope York survive ....  for their fans and the wider RL community ...   but to say the council are blameless in this situation is being somewhat simplistic!!    ....  there are many shades of grey in this story ...  lets just hope there is a RL team in York next year!!

Who was it sought a high court injunction to prevent the new stadium being built at all? It wasn't the council I can tell you that.

I also believe that punching people in restaurants is a bit more than "difficult to deal with".

Councils don't usually cover themselves with glory but in this case I would be surprised if more than 2% of the difficulties could be attached to them.

(As an afterthought TONO can you explain why the "previous" owner has still insisted in retaining the rights of the York City Knights Trust?)
