0 Domestic players for the Ceders! What a joke! Having just qualified for the world cup it would have been a great opportunity to bring some domestic players to Australia and show them the stadiums and the facilities. It would inspire them and send a message if they work hard in Lebanon this is the dream they can achieve.  If I was the Lebanon based leadership I would not endorse this team.  I really think there needs to be a quota for players born and raised in a country to qualify as a test match.

For Lebanon, the Liban Espoir team features more domestic Lebanese players and plays Northern Hemisphere opposition. The Cedars are the more exile-oriented team, for matches in the Southern Hemisphere. They probably can't afford to fly players in from the Middle East, anyway.

Hopefully, if they qualify for the next RWC, the squad will be a mixture of both.

They were able to fly an entire team from Australia and 3 players from Lebanon to South Africa for the WC qualifying.  I was really looking forward to seeing some of the domestic players play.  This has been a bad year so far in 2nd tier nation development.

They probably got RLIF funding for the Sth Africa trip because it was a WC Qualifier. This game is more of a selection trial for OZ-based players.

When was the last time the cedars played in Lebanon?

They used to play the Mediterranean cup in Tripoli.  They drew almost 10,000 one year in a match vs France.  And in 2011 they played a WC qualifying match v Serbia in Tripoli drew a few hundred.

I just hope funding won't be used this year to host a couple of Lebanon RL officials in Belmore.
