  1. Connor is looking a lot more settled in the team this season, which is leading to better things happening on either side of him.
  2. I watched on catch-up, so mostly avoided this thread much as the action unfolded. Are the Warriors reverting to type/tripe, or were the Titans finally capable of an 80-minute performance?
  3. Plus there are other lifestyle rumours. But when he's good, he's good.
  4. Travolta can do weird stuff. Sometimes he almost carries it off, like 1996's Michael and sometimes you wonder about his sanity, like 2019's The Fanatic.
  5. These days, wreaths are usually laid at the Cenotaph by the RFL and competing clubs' representatives on the eve of the Challenge Cup Final. They are usually joined by people from the Armed Forces Rugby League, the Royal British Legion, and the All-Party Parliamentary Rugby League Group. Fans can also attend, but the Final is a day trip for most non-Londoners these days.
  6. Mike Pinder from The Moody Blues: https://www.nme.com/news/music/moody-blues-founder-mike-pinder-dies-age-82-3750634
  7. I was thinking of Peru: https://www.footballkitarchive.com/peru-kits/
  8. Burning Spear covers The Grateful Dead, with surprisingly successful results!
  9. Worth remembering that Cullen did TV punditry for a while and the whinges about him were pretty much constant.
  10. There was an anecdote about him and Andy Farrell being photographed together for an article or interview and Cullen suggested they got a box or something for him to stand on so the two were at the same height for the photo. Farrell's response was "you never needed anything to stand on to reach my head in your playing days!"
  11. It is hard not to split a note or three when playing an unkeyed instrument like the bugle, especially in front of a stadium-full of spectators. My dad had a bit of a wobbly turn after playing the Last Post on Armistice Day last year. Mind you, he is in his eighties and his embouchure is not what it used to be.
  12. He was young and probably spoke impulsively out of frustration. Still, at least he had a different first name. There are some children of famous people who get lumbered with the whole name, plus a "Junior" at the end, just to ram the inferiority home.
  13. The clubs may come to that conclusion on their own, especially if they can stream the day's other games in a licensed clubhouse. There's income to be tapped. It may also mean that I starve to death in my flat, unable to go out and buy food because there's a game on..
  14. Under Lam, a young Hanley was dropped into the deep end for an injury-hit Wigan and he got absolutely monstered by a rampant St Helens side. It seems like Lam saw enough to keep faith with him, and it is paying off. I'm very glad for him.
