I'm going to say Souths will have around 37000 by round 1 and break our own record, If we can win another premiership in the next 3 years I think we will hit 50,000 by 2020. People should remember that lovely chap Murdoch seen no value in the Rabbitohs Ha what a bright spark  aye.

Now maybe I'm missing something hear but at the end of last season (for one week anyway) there where sharks jerseys everywhere but so far only 9000 care enough to become members, how can this be?

Craig Bellamy has been so key to what has been going on showing strength and leadership when the going got tough. His standards are high and he has the respect of his players.

Having him as our coach for so long has given Storm the guidance, direction and continuity that any aspiring top club needs.

Too true g las.

he reminds me a bit of a sir alex ferguson type in character.

20 year aniversery next season since the club was founded great milestone.

Hopefully its the kind of milestone to inspire a surge into the next five year period in terms of lifting memberships lifting game attendences most important junior growth. I trust craig will take care of the on field success.

I see Billy Whizz Slater is reported to have said he won't play in 2017 if his shoulder does not fully recover.

He is back in training but his shoulder is not back to full strength.

As it is he's only played 8 games in the last two seasons.

Excuse me for quoting myself!

I read today that Dale Finucane reckons Billy Whizz is on track for making a R1 appearance against Bulldogs in early March.

You'd give more weight to Billy's own views. All the same knowing Billy he'll be desperate to play again. You certainly can't say he's rushed back too soon after injury this time.

How good was it that Cam Munster stepped up to the mark?

Storm are doing very well in getting fans to hop on board & I'm happy for the club, The real test for Melbourne will be when Smith , Cronk & Slater retire and the side slides down the ladder as happens to all clubs at some point except Brisbane but that's another story. Having three of the best players in a life time is a very rare occurrence that is very unlikely to be repeated so will the fans stay loyal is the question.

Rabbit i think the fans will stay loyal, the club will eventually slide down the ladder as is normal in sport but i believe the Victorian mentality is that sport would not be interesting if you didn't lose sometimes.

I have personally always stuck by times when losing and i believe Storm will not experience much of a decline in members when those days do come around.

Genuine question: what's Storm 2016 membership numbers? It could help to assess if 20,000 or even 25,000 is reachable.

I meant for the past season (2016), sorry. The numbers you're quoting are for the upcoming 17 season, aren't they?

Thanks... Yeah, 20,000 looks perfectly within reach.

Don't know if you know the answer, but are membership packages cheaper in the AFL than in the NRL? Or is the economy better in Melbourne/Victoria? It seems to me, at first glance, that Victorian AFL clubs usually have more members than NSW NRL clubs. Because in spite of the competition, Storm do well in this area too.

There must be a reason.

By comparison, at this stage, Brisbane's 18,000 something appears rather low.
