  1. The change from 15 to 13 players happened over 100 years ago. Having 8 subs and unlimited interchanges would neither be logical nor practical, it would serve no purpose and would affect the sport in a negative way. The rules of RL have been optimized for the best possible outcome, there isn't any reason to change the number of subs.
  2. So you'd rather them be slogging it out playing amateur RL with poor coaching and poor facilities than being developed into professional players. About sums up the mentality of RL in this country.
  3. Amateur U18 teams are completely irrelevant to everything, numbers drop off because 1. The best players leave to join professional set-ups and 2. Kids leave school and want to do other things. I can't believe the stupidity of this post. What you're suggesting is scrapping/reducing academy structures and leaving talented kids in the wilderness for no logical reason. The new RFL administration are going to set the sport back here 20 years unless they are removed immediately.
  4. '40% of available tickets' meaning 40% of the bays that are currently open, yes?
  5. ^ Both sides fielded the strongest available teams, which consisted of both locals and overseas-based players. Italy also didn't beat Lebanon, they tied and Italy went through by virtue of points difference. It's the second time Lebanon have failed to qualify for a WC without losing a match. There is no glory and no points for fielding a fully domestic sides. Nobody wants to see a bunch of amateurs be whipped by 100+ points, nothing is gained and it's also a concern for the players' safety.
  6. This match should be taking place in Italy. Having an England warm-up match (which England could conceivably lose) at a WC venue is a ridiculous decision.
  7. The Palestinians have played a couple of matches at junior/schools level, as have other Middle Eastern nations like Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
  8. The officially sanctioned body. Hence the press release being circulated by the RLEF and thus posted by the official LE account.
  9. I believe it means that the Irish now have the ability to independently train their own coaches and award them with an internationally-recognized coaching qualification.
  10. Disappointing that there's only three nations involved, I'm sure quite a few others have police teams.
  11. They've lost the plot. Someone ask them why they are considering implementing a totally ridiculous and unneccessary system, potentially undoing all the good work by the previous (competent) regime and setting the sport back 10 years for the sake of a few moaning idiots and business executives who have no idea what's best for the sport. Someone also ask them whether they will be forcing the return of an U20's/reserves competition next season, and if not then why not?
