Bulls vs Fax also an interesting one. A tight battle between two clubs battling for third and fourth in the table, and to say we owe Fax one is an understatement with our last two performances against them in particular being on rather the pathetic side.

Fax would be up for it even if they were bottom of the table and they seem to be in a lot better form than they were when they beat us at Easter so it'll be a real ding dong battle. A win from a Bulls POV would relieve a bit of pressure on the playoff race, especially with Leigh up the following week where I don't think we'll get a sniff.

SQL Honours

Play off mini league winner - 2002. Bronze Medalist - 2003. Big Split Group Winner - 2006. Minor Stupidship - 2005, 2006. Cup Silver Medalist - 2008, 2009

CHAMPION - 2005, 2009, 2010

London won same fixture last year... Good luck London SL are missing you!

LOL after watching that rubbish tonight in front of 3k fans and watching half a dozen or more games from the sl this season, your probably right, they may just fit in nicely.

London v Leigh will decide 1/2 and Bulls/fax who makes the 4. Bulls lose and Leigh win then they are stuffed imo as this allows Leigh to rest players for the 8's when playing teams like Fax towards the end of the season

How will it decide 1/2. Only if Leigh win would I agree with that.

Here we go again .....

Sheffield smashed Fev 35-10 tonight- lucky it wasnt more by all accounts. Great win for Sheffield, but massive dent in Fevs top 4 hopes.

Just interviewed Jon Sharp and he's scathing.

Featherstone tonight: 12 penalties conceded and 17 errors. That's 29 times they gave Sheffield the ball or an extra set.

Sheffield need to use this performance tonight as the turning point in their difficult season.

Main thing is Sheffield stay up- which I hope they do. I fear if they get relegated its good bye. This season is gone for them really. But they can start building the foundations for next season.

The beauty of it being forced errors,by a determined Sheffield side who played with 12 men twice in the game.

I make that 2 wins and 2 defeats in your presence.

No reserves, but resilience, persistence and determination are omnipotent.

Regarding the two sin bins - Mark Mexico came in late with elbow off the ball and ten minutes was the minimum.

For Duane Straugheir's ten minutes in the cooler, Andy Sweet had given Featherstone six consecutive penalties and even though he pulled Straugheir up for being inside the ten.

How good was Cory Aston? He had a hand in just about everything last night and I thought Nathan Chapel went really well on his debut.

The programme notes painted desperation behind the scenes to secure investment for the new stadium.

I have a soft spot for Sheffield and hope that this is their last season at the SHU Sports Park.

Next week is the biggest game of the season, a real relegation four pointer.

It's must win territory for both sides and Halifax won't need the extra fire in their bellies after learning about the Featherstone result last night.

Jon Sharp was right with his summation in that if you lose a game you're basically eliminating yourself from the top four.

Halifax and Featherstone have the toughest finish to the season from any of the top six clubs.

They both play top six clubs in their final three games, including a meeting between themselves at the Shay in the penultimate round of the season.

No disrespect to Whitehaven and Oldham but those two home fixtures in mid July for the Bradford Bulls will see them cement their place in the top four.

The BIG question is who will join them.

every dog has its day,tbh I wasn't looking forward to our Sheffield fixtures and was glad to grind out a win, equally made up for angelic cynic, its about time he had a solid result against, lets face it,a better fev side. disappointed on the other hand to see certain so called fev fans turning on one of their most respected forum members in their frlfc section..I wish both teams well in the future.

  I agree wholeheartedly.

I shall use your quote on the Facebook site and direct it towards the detractors of Cory.( Yes,there are 1 or 2 )

I hope it changes to 3 wins and 2 defeats then.

With some added Gallic flair, flamboyance and je ne sais quoi if required.

Makes our win v Sheffield look even more impressive, I think we can win today at Derwent Park
