5 consecutive home games for the Sharks mid-season. I don't know how many people worked on this, but it's rather mind-boggling.

Up, up Cronulla; The boys in the black, white and blue; Up, up Cronulla; Name of the Sharks fits you; Sharks, Sharks forever; Go out and play without fear; Now's the time to see good football*; For the Sharks are here!

Good link Irish Saint.

Thought this bit worthy of showing:

Still, for a quick snapshot, here's how each club's draw is ranked – from toughest to easiest – in 2017.

1. Rabbitohs (168 points)

2. Cowboys (164)

3. Knights (162)

4. Raiders (155)

5. Sharks (145)

6. Warriors (145)

7. Dragons (139)

8. Titans (137)

9. Panthers (137)

10. Sea Eagles (132)

11. Wests Tigers (130)

12. Roosters (128)

13. Storm (123)

14. Broncos (119)

15. Eels (115)

16. Bulldogs (110)

The toughest draw belongs to the South Sydney Rabbitohs, who rank at the top of the list both according to 2016 rankings and to 2017 premiership betting. They play premiership contenders the Storm, Cowboys, Broncos and Panthers twice each, with only a single game against lower-ranked clubs like Newcastle and St George Illawarra.

By contrast, the Bulldogs only play nine of their 24 matches against teams that played finals football in 2016, and will be forced to face premiership heavyweights Melbourne, Canberra and Cronulla just once each.

What a shock Souths got duded again & the CEO's club (Bulldogs) got a dream run. RL is fixed these days! What's the bet Titans, Parramatta, Penrith or NZ win the lets give every dud a go comp in 2017.

Any organization that needs to highlight the imbalance (or "toughness") of its own schedule on the day it is released has serious problems. And it happens every year. The "toughness" of November should be revised the next March though.

But the draw is the least of the issues... see the current discontent with Grant (and Greenberg?) regarding finances.

Ideally a league should be drawn up so that everybody plays everyone else home and away once. All then is equal as it can be.

The current structure of one division of 16 clubs in a physically demanding sport like RL means that this would make unreasonable demands on players especially when representative matches are also taken into account.

The present system has proved to be stable, sustainable  and overall financially rewarding, so the ideal of not fixing something that isn't broken makes sense. Also there doesn't appear to be any grumbling from clubs  about any unfairness.

All the same, if setting it up again from scratch the principle of playing all teams home and away would be my starting point.

It is a tough comp, but all clubs have teams in NSW or Q/land Cups, plus U20s (for at least one more season),that`s fifty or more players,so I can`t see why they can`t play the extra four fixtures. The International weekend in early May is a waste of time as far as I`m concerned, they only really have bragging rights, soon forgotten when the next week of NRL games come around. No,I reckon the fans are getting short changed, these so called stars want the big bucks,so they ought to earn it,but to me it`s all about the comp being fair to everyone, thirty games before the play offs does that.

Extra six fixtures. There are 26 Rounds but each team only plays 24 games. You could cut out the byes and then you'd only need an extra 4.

Ah,yes, well done,I hadn`t noticed that. Ok,so if there`s no byes nor a day off in May for the International weekend, that leaves three more weeks they`d have to find,so I guess they`d have to start in early February to fit it all in. It just ain`t gonna happen then is it?

State Of Origin will never be scrapped and you know that. The World Cup of Rugby League happens once every four years, and for me,that`s enough. This end of season stuff every year is bloody awful, the players just go through the motions, none of them appearing to take it seriously,so why should we?

He's forgetting most Australians don't like RU and never will. Why would Packer a part owner of South Sydney fund a rival sport? he wouldn't.

As for Murdoch I'd just love to never hear his horrible name again as long as I live RU can gladly have him.

There has been some great 3/4 nations over the years so to say the players take it seriously is ridiculous, yes this years wasn't the best but was it any worse than some of the one sided origin series we've had over the last ten years and let's face it since the biff and shoulder charge were done away with origin has lost a great deal of its magic.

Thankfully most League fans appreciate international rugby and recognise its importance in expanding this great game to a wider audience, although there are a few one eyed inbreds who only think rugby league is played in a couple of Australian states.
