  1. https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nrl-premiership/breaking-st-george-illawarra-dragons-confirm-zac-lomax-will-depart-club-at-end-of-the-season/news-story/1cde64f8b0b8b34f4dcf31bb4fbdda33 Hard to say on this one. I wouldn't pay him $800K but he is a 75% goal kicker so some club might need that. That's slightly better than Gutherson and slightly worse than Garrick so pretty good.
  2. One oddity about the Tigers win was that 2 bench players didn't play at all. Neither Kepaoa nor Sullivan got any game time.
  3. Yes it was. Wests may not do much better this year but they've certainly looked a lot better thus far. Seems to be a bit more starch in the defence. I was expecting Sivo to bulldoze down his flank all day but that didn't happen. They can withstand repeat sets and they have some attacking flair. Sezer, particularly as an organizing half, is a big improvement. Next week Galvin will be out so that won't help and playing Dolphins at Suncorp was always going to be tough.
  4. Before 1980s they were mainly Christians. There was a wave back in the early 1900s like the Mansours who were big in the fabric and textiles business. Also former Sydney Lord Mayor Nick Shehadie (who was also the Wallabies captain at one point) whose family came here in the 1920s. His wife Marie Bashir who was the NSW Governor from 2001-2014, came from a Lebanese family that arrived here before 1900. Some of those first wave were Greek Orthodox and some probably Armenian Orthodox. Even today most people of Lebanese descent are Christians, about 60%
  5. Then Parra get a penalty from the short restart - Wests knock it forward into a team mate. Gutho misses the kick from 40m out FT: Wests 17 Parra 16
  6. 74min: Eels get a penalty about 10m out for escort Gutho penalty goal 16 - 16
  7. 68min: 50m try by Wests after Galvin makes a break and passes back in to Bula who goes under the posts. Koroisau goal Wests 16 - 14
  8. 64min: Olam gets his second Koroisau misses the goal from out wide Wests 10 -14
  9. Bizarre scrum sequence around the 61-minute mark. Two identical scrums on the same spot with same result - a scrum. Both times the ball went to Bula who passed but ball was knocked on in the tackle by Morgan Harper.
  10. Parra challenge on a knock-on reveals a hip drop by Galvin on Tuilagi. Galvin gets 10 in the bun
  11. 44min: Hopgood breaks through the middle and passes to King Gutho who crosses under the posts. Converts his own try Parra 12 - 6
  12. Wests' defence is quite impressive but we'll soon see how much the first 40 took out of them. Parra had 58% of the ball and 70% of the territory in the fur staff.
