  1. Talking to a Rovers fan in the Tribal bar last night and he says he thinks we'll win. That just about sums up the Hull Derby, Hull KR the biggest favourites, certainly in my memory, and someone reckons the underdog will win. I just can't see it unfortunately. Back when I was at school in deepest darkest East Hull, probably 1978 and ten minutes walk from the old Craven Park ground, Rovers were fairly strong favourites but Hull went there and won 13-20. I think George Clark got a couple of tries and David Marshall kicked half a dozen goals. Summat like that is unlikely to happen today. Back then the players had a bit of pride in the shirt and raised themselves for the Derby. This current rabble would struggle to raise themselves to get out of bed. I feel for Tony Smith today, he's gonna cop a hell of a lot of stick. Whether he deserves it or not, how the team finish this season will give us an idea. It's going to take a coaching masterclass to finish anywhere near halfway up the SL table by September.
  2. Discuss the SL game between St Helens and Wigan Warriors here without any inferences that the officials are anything but impartial please.
  3. Discuss the SL game between Hull Kingston Rovers and Hull FC here without any inferences that the officials are anything but impartial please.
  4. Hit by a massive cargo ship and collapses in its entirety. Astonishing footage, how can a bridge over a mile and a half long collapse as quickly as that? Had it happened during rush hour there could have been hundreds of fatalities. As it is, there were still vehicles on it at the time and a rescue operation is underway.
  5. What happened the last time that took place? (Desperate times and all that!)
  6. Oooh, I don't know, I reckon Hull KR have an ouside chance. (More of a chance than Hull FC, before Worzel gets his jibe in)
  7. St Helens v Warrington Wolves Hull KR v Leigh Leopards Catalans Dragons v Huddersfield Giants Castleford Tigers v Wigan Warriors
  8. Hull FC received no bans, no fines...in fact, not a sausage. That is all.
  9. I'm guessing the post you quoted was just a fishing effort. To be fair, Hull FC have bloodied a fair few promising young kids over the last few years but the club don't seem to be very patient with them and they end up being sent "on loan" to other clubs for "match game time", never to return. I think @Lowedesert will know more about this than me but lads like Liam Harris who scored on his debut v Hull KR at MW in Newcastle but then was sent to York if memory serves and is doing rather well for them some years later. Clubs don't always get it correct, Harris may have struggled in SL but unless you have a time machine it must be difficult to assess how good a young kid will be sometimes. Having said that, Saints and Wigan do indeed appear to have a time machine. Their ability to bring up young kids and mould them into "one in a generation" players like Jack Welsby is remarkable. But, of course, given the option of signing and playing for those two clubs who are consistently successful is always going to be more attractive to youngsters coming through and perhaps they put more effort in because of it.
