  1. For New Zealand, it looks as though Sky Sport NZ no longer have SL rights - none of the games for this weekend are showing on their online TV guide. Apparently the SL app is available in NZ. Was hoping it would be in addition to being available on Sky but seems not.
  2. Seems like great news for Cas. If anyone is wondering, I have the remaining 4% of shares stashed under my mattress.
  3. As someone who played for a fledgling University of London RL team in the early 90s (which Hector was involved in supporting), I am a little sad at this. Like he says in his post, it is the right thing to do. It seemed like the club had gone backwards fast in the last couple of years. Pleased that the club won't die. Let's hope it can recover in the amateur ranks and return to L1 one day. Bring back the Skolar girls selling beers to punters in their seats! Good times.
  4. Good use of the word "apparently". We understand that a fine, upstanding member of a forum like this one such as yourself could not possibly know this for sure.
  5. I know Cas allowed Radford to work with Samoa during the World Cup but I'm not sure they expected it to have such an effect on the prep for this season. Didn't Radford go off to Samoa to celebrate? Fine, you might say he deserved it but the pre-season prep for Cas seems to have suffered. I suspect he has an assistant job lined up in the NRL, Cas have discovered this and decided to cut him loose now. I'm throwing a curveball out there. What about Simon Middleton? He had success in women's RU. He might have been removed from RL for too long but that never seems to be a problem for RL players crossing to RU coaching. I think head coaching these days is a lot more about setting a club's standards, culture, discipline etc. The tactics and gameplay can come from the assistants and senior players. Head coaches need leadership skills that I don't think Radford has. I just hope Cas avoid the tired old men of yesterday like Justin Morgan and Brian McDermott.
  6. I am really pleased to see a new set of stadium drawings out - just in time for Christmas. Things seem to be really moving on with the quality of the drawings these days - much more in line with the drawings that are likely to be required by IMG when they start running the show. I am old enough to remember the drawings that came out back in the Glasshoughton Stadium proposal days when we had Richard Wright as chairman. He did such a good job with those drawings. I'm sure everyone who lives in the houses that were built on that Glasshoughton site really enjoy looking back at those drawings. Time did, of course, move on, and the club stepped up when a new set of drawings were needed a few years later. An entirely new set of drawings at a new site next to the M62 were prepared. Again, these were spot-on drawings of state-of-the-art facilities that everyone will look back on fondly. It has been a couple of years since we saw any new drawings so it is pleasing to see that this important aspect of running a rugby league club has not been left behind. I, for one, am looking forward to what innovations could be included in the next set of drawings in a few years time.
  7. NZ feed giving a shot of the old test card and some sort of message about BT. The game should have finished by now - did someone forget to book the satellite in case of a late KO?
  8. TV feed in NZ is down too. Thankfully, I can get BBC with a VPN
  9. Looking at the Samoa and Greece kits, I hope one of them has a change kit
  10. I think you're getting mixed up with those "special" films you watch at home when no-one else is around
  11. If they could arrange for highlights of one of RL's showpiece occasion to be shown on TV in a rugby league watching country like New Zealand, that'll be a start. CC Final not shown anywhere in NZ and no highlights anywhere to be found yet. I subscribe to both sports channels in NZ. I can, of course, find plenty of highlights of the RU European final, plus their second-tier "Challenge Cup" very easily on YouTube. I can also find reaction and interviews from Tottenham's stadium. I could buy a VPN and watch BBC coverage but really? Should I have to?
  12. I've still got my "no mergers" badge somewhere - do I need it for this thread?
