A really terrific story about Jordan Turner

Recommended Posts

I wonder if Australia have sounded him out about playing for them?

I'll say it before the usual suspects get a chance:

Australia should play him in the ANZAC Test next year just so England and Jamaica can't use him.

Hes a very good and skillful player...but hes fell victim to the usual british trait of playing him out of position...hes a 6 or ball playing 13 all day long!

Hes a decent center but hes wasted there..

Hopefully with blake austins injury proness he'll get a shot at 6 at canberra...christ elliot whitehead played half a dozen games at 6 for canberra last season and jordan is twice the footballer elliot is..

Imagine if Jamaica managed to get Turner, Ben Jones-Bishop and Leon Pryce (Both their brothers have played) to run out. I'm sure there's more as well who are eligible in Super League. They could have a good side I reckon

Would sooner see jamaicans from the amateur competition play!

Also Turner has played for the knights so although the rules allow it I dont think it would do RL any favours...

Very rude, spud.

Sticky clearly has sights for Turner being a bit of a super sub. We'll see if that eventuates, I have my doubts. But it's hard to see him cracking the full strength team in any starting position.

Jordan seems to have the right attitude. He's stripped a bit of weight so far, hopefully that continues.

He's already found the heat a bit difficult but summer has only just started. The hot days are to come.

1) You can have both things. Jamaica diaspora and the strong connection people with Jamaican origin often feel to their heritage homeland meeans you can have boh. Indeed, having the English players with Jamaican heritage playing test footy could help the International movement, providing - as the match v. Wales confirmed - a good opposition for teams (God knows) that really need it.

Profits and revenues generated from these activities then could be spent on JRL local game; I'm talking about looking for sponsorship from Jamaican businessmen in UK and Australia, too.

Don't underestimate these things.

2) Well, this is something I really can't understand.

I don't need to appeal to the anachronistic one life-one nation idea (especially for a sport like RL, that is really played professionally in few countries) that some have, because it's not the case here.

Even in sports like soccer - a sport played in every single country all over the world - you can play under 21 etc. for one country (something very close the Knights concept) and then switch your International elegibility.

And here I read Turner shouldn't play for Jamaica cause he's played for the Knights...

His story itself, told in the article, tells about how he feels about his heritage.
