North Wales Crusaders v Rochdale Hornets will be a hard fought tussle - particularly as our old favourite Jono Smith will be in the Hornets ranks.  Rochdale must be favourites to win as they are performing well in all competitions - however this is at the Racecourse and Crusaders dont turn over easily even with our much depleted squad.  It should be great fun!

By the way there is an excellent hospitality deal: Fish, chips and mushy peas plus a matchday ticket for £20. Normal ticket price for adults is £15 so the deal is a real bargain.   email general manager Hanna Clarke at hanna.clarke@crusadersrfl.com.

I sincerely hope you are wrong about Hornets winning by 22 points. I admit we are stuggling at the moment but our form hasn't been so bad as to suggest we'd lose by so many. Admittedly Hornets are on a great run of form but I think we'll give them a sterner test,

Somewhat worryingly, Hemel coach Troy Perkins has put a shout out on Twitter today asking for a game doctor for tomorrow. Hope that gets sorted ASAP...

Didn't Hemel's game at Gloucs a few years back get called off right before kick-off because the match commissioner said the doctor wasn't eligible? Small chance I'll be at Hemel tomorrow.

A game I was at was nearly called off when the doctor got stuck in traffic after a big accident on the motorway. This isn't a simple question of "Is there a doctor in the house" - you have to have special sports accreditation. He arrived through the gate of the stadium at one minute after scheduled kick off time thereby saving a lot of cost and embarrassment all round. They couldn't actually kick off until he entered the stadium.

"I am the avenging angel; I come with wings unfurled, I come with claws extended from halfway round the world. I am the God Almighty, I am the howling wind. I care not for your family; I care not for your kin. I come in search of terror, though terror is my own; I come in search of vengeance for crimes and crimes unknown. I care not for your children, I care not for your wives, I care not for your country, I care not for your lives." - (c) Jim Boyes - "The Avenging Angel"

Looking forward to seeing  Skolars  at the annual Good Friday fixture at Pennine Way.

I was going to come down for this but have the flu... Gutted as would have been nice to see Hemel in action (played one game for the club back in 2004).

Crusaders 16 Hornets 42 good second half from Hornets att 600 ish

643, to be exact. Well deserved win - although we pulled back from 6 - 22 to 16 - 22 at half time (including two tries down the left wing that were worth the admission money to see on their own) there was really only one team in it in the second half, Dave Cookson being particularly dangerous. At least it was a nice day and we've now got a weekend off to re-group before schleping up to Donny followed by the Skolars for our only home match in April.

Couldnt go today but sounded like a strong performance by Skolars at Hemel. Two wins out of three certainly beats last years start!

We need results against the northern teams though, particularly at New River.

Very pleased South Wales won.
