I dont think british and other veterans are forgotten….its just that remembrance day is the day chosen for that purpose in UK. Having attended the dawn service at Gallipoli there is an official british military presence at the service every year There were more british deaths at Gallipoli (or the Dardanelles as it is referred to in UK) than Australia and NZ combined but that reflects the different number of participants from the respective countries.

The ground is owned by Rochdale FC. All money raised from use of the pitch (Dale gates, Hornets lease payments) go to Dale. The largest shareholder is about to be a local billionaire allegedly. Why should the local taxpayers be coughing up for this?

Hasnt your second point always been the case though….I am not saying its right, but we have always managed to get enough folks to do the job in the past. Ive watched rugby league for nigh on 60 years and had a relative who was a touch judge. I dont think verbal abuse of officials is noticeably worse now than in years gone by. Whether they also get on line abuse is another matter.
