Hard to know what to make of friendly fixtures, but this one will be a bit special. An all-Featherstone derby. Im guessing Rovers will put out a few reserves for this one, there's plenty more friendlies to come in January and everyone will need a couple of run-outs.

A bit of build up from people connected with both clubs, Keith Bell....

and Jamie Rooney.......

Good game really. Spoilt by the brawl. Other than that some good performances from the lions and rovers. Hard to gauge properly with the conditions.

Was that the normal starting lions first team?

No lions had a few out today.

A bit of an argument started in the stand behind me about the ages of the the two teams. Can anyone shed any light on this? From ear wigging they seemed to be thinking that the rovers were all 18 and under and that the lions were open age and as old as late 20s ish.

Thought 2 sides went well in really difficult conditions - can't remember a wetter pitch with standing water and large puddles in several areas. It rained for entire match too.

Fev side did look young, mind you so did Lions. Thought number 21 for Lions would have got M.O.M if not sent off late on.

Awful conditions (really bad), lot's of mistakes, 5 sent off, controversial decisions, plenty of banter in the stands and 100% from both sides - really enjoyed it.

who ever did the montage at the PO road end, what a fantastic job great idea and show cases what a great club this is.

It was commissioned by the heritage project funded through the Featherstone rovers foundation, I just hope nobody spoils it etc

Jake Joynt showed up well for Rovers, but where's he been for the last couple of years?

He was in reserves until Bastian ruined him, so he signed for York. Came back back end of last season. To say he hasn't played a game for a year, he had a bloody good game. Strong running and punishing tackling. Got to keep an eye on him.
