  1. ....and Jersey, Guernsey, Gibraltar, the Isle of Man, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, the British Antarctic Territory, and Tristan da Cunha. But it is still the GB pound. Anyway we are digressing from the thread.
  2. I'm not too far away from you and we see a buzzard and kites fairly regularly too - they start over the fields nearby and slowly drift over the estate. We did have a frequent sparrowhawk visiter to the garden when we first moved in but haven't seen it, or its aftermath, for a couple of years now - possibly because the goldfinches seem to have disappeared round here; not seen many sparrows either for a while.
  3. Spent a few days in The Lakes last week. Watching and listening to the skylarks told me spring was really here. A couple of sightings of kestrels hunting and a couple of buzzards in Bannerdale followed by a real treat to see 6 buzzards (4 + 2) circling the skies above Patterdale, matched by a herd of around 20 red deer on the slopes of the deer forest on The Nab
  4. Grade E is a 4-6 recommendation but can be increased (or decreased) if the panel agree circumstances demand an out of guidelines sentence.
  5. Maybe, just maybe the (possibly) owing money thing isn't quite as straightforward as you seem to think it is.
  6. Clubs can be deducted points for a whole range of offences, many of which come under the umbrella of 'bringing the game into disrepute'. Not too hard to think back to Fev's points deduction not that many moons ago as an example.
  7. The 'shared gate' calculation method used to be included in the publicly viewable Op Rules, including as recently as the change from 'allowable match day expenses' for the home side, to a fixed % of the gate.
  8. Which EGM? The only recent EGM I'm aware of (2018) was the Club asking A shareholders for permission to seek to change the status of the land currently in the green belt to allow development and bring in income, nothing about a change in constitution.
  9. Some have definitely transferred ownership on the 'open market'. Although it doesn't give total power due to the existence of the two share classes. I can't remember what the A/B director split is (should be) on the board (although 2/3 rings a bell) but there are (important) limits as to what can be done without the approval of the A shareholders, and they can only hold one share each.
  10. The M62 is currently closed between J22 Oldham and J24 Huddersfield, and expected to remain closed throughout the morning - heavy traffic is expected in and around the area.
  11. In November '22 the Club owed MC £476.5k as shown in the last published accounts - an increase from the £458k owed in November '20 (£51k was paid back in 2020-21 but he obviously loaned that and more back). MC's B shareholding has also increased from 14360 in Feb '23 to 51360 in Nov '23 to 71360 in Dec '23 (ie £570k worth). Whether that is additional investment over and above loans or conversion of some/all of his loan to shares may become clearer when the next accounts are published in November.
