ABSOLUTELY B****Y BRILLIANT - HORNETS CHAMPIONS !

Everyone  involved at/with Hornets take a huge accolade for today's effort against all the odds.

Thank goodness we do not have to play again next week after all the injuries received in this momentous occasion for the club and supporters.

Nothing but contempt for those so-called Toulouse supporters who booed after one of our players was laid flat out by a high shot that should have been red carded. Similarly, when Jono Smith was elbowed in the face with a bloody mess to leave the field.

Good luck to York in the next semi-final.

What a fabulous result. Not surprised at the dirty tack ticks by the French. They did not like it when we played them at Rochdale and took the game to them.

A great win also today for Mayfield at Wigan St Pats by 49 to 34

What a great game Rugby League is.

" From this day to the ending of the world

But we in it shall be remembered

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers

For he today that sheds his blood with me

Shall be my brother, be he ne'er so vile

This day shall gentle his condition

And gentlemen in England now a-bed

Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here while any speaks

That fought with us upon Saint Crispins day "

In the history of Rochdale Hornets this must have been our finest hour.

Despite the fact you've given the Knights a huge task next week just really well done today, really pleased to see the Frogs beaten when they thought it would be a cake walk into the Championship.

Many congratulations to Hornets and all the best next season. I have to say that the result is a disaster for us. We must beat Doncaster next Sunday and then virtually travel to Toulouse again to play them the week after. We will just hope for the best.

Unless the Knights can pull a massive performance out and mirror what the Hornets have done, you just never know in one-off games, it's a big IF but possible.

Absolutely brilliant second half performance, because of the injury to Cookson and the walking wounded I didn't hold out much hope at half time.  Whatever Killer said to the lads at half time worked a treat. Great commentary edge of the seat stuff. Well done to everyone at Hornets.

Many congratulations to Rochdale Hornets.Well done for your promotion and the Toulouse result. Looking for to the resumption of hostilities between the clubs next season. I've got to admit on having to look twice at the result on teletext. The first time ever I've cheered for Rochdale. And I'm a Oldham fan.Very very well done.

There's another plus side to all this that us roughyeds supporters haven't missed this season, and that's all the bloody travelling up and down the country to all your away fans, taking all your Sunday up. Good luck next season, I hope you achieve what us and Swinton did , and that's stay up. Congrats and let's look forward to the derby's again so I can come back on here and take the mickey.

GIVE US A TEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just returned home from the game (I live close to Lezignan Corbieres) and am a very proud life long Hornets supporter.

My first game being an away cup victory at Keighley. I was at the Athletic Grounds when Bill Holliday dropped the monster goal against Leeds,  saw Alan Hodkinson give one of the greatest individual performances against Hull in a promotion cracker, saw Henderson Gill and Phil McKenzie score the best individual tries that I have seen from Hornets players, against York and Carlisle respectively and witnessed victory in the play-off final at Leigh against Oldham.

I think today's performance was only equalled by the great Alan Hodkinson. Hornet's were magnificent, they played the perfect match against that type of opposition. Hornets were undoubtedly aggresive, but they were so much more than just that. Their incredible defensive effort, shrewd attacking play and an almost visible will to win is why they triumphed in the end. That and bloody good coaching !

Make no mistake Toulouse gave as much out as they received and the real cheap shots came from them, even though they had some class acts on the field, they just could not cope with a team that competed fiercely with them for 80 minutes.

It will be interesting to see if either Barrow, Doncaster or York can follow suit,  personally I prefer Toulouse to take the second promotion spot, it's not their fault that they have been championed by some ( not all) expansionist zealots who have no interest in an opposing view to their own. However, sport is sport and anything can happen as I have just witnessed.

Do you remember Hendy in that great performance at Craven Cottage when we became the first side to beat Reg Bowden's Fulham on their own patch?

If there was anyone to make Jim Mills back off, it was Alan....and it was a joy to see him lift that cup at Central Park, as Barrow captain.

Fantastic result for the hornets , I watched you twice at craven park this year and you were a great side

Not many come to craven park and completely outplay us ,

You done the same today against a full time professional side and I'm delighted that a old established side from the heartlands of rugby league have created the biggest upset since Sheffield eagles at Wembley

Good luck next year to the hornets from all at the raiders

I remember the final well. Hodky put himself about that day as usual but Barrow's scrum half ( who's name escapes me ) had a blinder that day.
