  1. Women's program launched, which will see New Caledonia play Vanuatu at the end of the year. https://pacifiquetreize.com/en/2024/02/28/pacifique-treize-launches-womens-rugby-league-program/
  2. Vanuatu has released it's proposed schedule for 2024 https://pacifiquetreize.com/en/2024/02/25/vanuatu-rugby-league-release-2024-schedule/
  3. Steve Scanlan was involved in the New York bid for League One and failed purchase of the London Skolars... Not sure if he was also involved in the NARL (which had some of the NYC investors involved it), but doesn't have a great record so far.
  4. Expanded training program has been announced in New Caledonia for 2024, which will run from U10s to Seniors and include both men's and women's https://pacifiquetreize.com/en/2024/02/22/as-pacifique-xiii-announce-expanded-training-program-for-2024/
  5. Unless those clubs are happy to forfeit all those points associated with crowds, they'll still announce attendances. That announcement may only be to RLC & IMG, but it will be announced and verified.
  6. Hopefully, with them playing a number of matches at home early in the season, it allows them to get off to a good start crowd wise. After Catalans, they have Hull FC away, then Wigan, Warrington & Huddersfield at home, before Hull KR away & Salford at home again. Wigan & Warrington should both bring decent away numbers (and have a solid following in the capital anyway), which gives the Broncos their best chance of big crowds early on. Ideal scenario is after those 2 + Catalans they would be between 15K-18K aggregate (Catalans 4.5K + Warrington 7K + Wigan 5.5K) which makes that 3.6K target a lot more achievable.
  7. Tickets remaining at Plough Lane by bay (yes I am excited to see something resembling a crowd buying tickets to a London home game) East Stand: - 117 : 56 South Stand: - 130 : 12 - 131 : 18 - 132 : 15 North Stand: - 112 : 154 - 113 : 21 - 114 : 25 - 115 : 21 - 116 : 31 - 117 : 60 So taking what we know the capacity is in each of those stands, we should be past 4,500 for Friday night. - East Stand : 2,335 (2,391) - South Stand : 1,047 (1,092) - North Stand : 1,153 (1,465) - West Stand : 0 (4,267) Wonder if we'll see the West Stand go on sale, or if they'll cap it at 4,948.
  8. Not sure which stand they've just opened, but North, South & East stands are all open now & selling strongly. I don't know the stadium well, but you'd have to think they'll be pushing 5K vs the Catalans. London hasn't had crowds like that since the Quins days in 2011.
  9. The players based in Noumea & Port Vila will continue to take part in the respective academies Pacifique Treize has in both cities. The intention is for additional academies to be opened up in Santo and either Mont-Dore, Dumbea or Paita. Players at the Academy take part in weekly training that is run by domestic representatives and then special intense sessions when we have specialists from Australia & France visit. Those based in Vanuatu are able to take part in the domestic competitions run on the two core islands. New Caledonia doesn't have a domestic competition structure yet, so we will run inner & inter academy matches to help build match fitness, etc. If everything goes to plan, there will be a Pacifique competition held towards the end of the year featuring teams representing Santo/Sanma, Efate/Shefa, Nouméa, Dumbea, Mont Dore and Paita to help pick the U17s & U19s Pacifique Treize teams for next year. These teams will feature both Academy players & other athletes from across the countries. We will see what happens with the structure of that tournament, things have changed since before the start of the tour.
  10. Agree. The tour has been a great experience for everyone involved in Pacifique Treize to establish a baseline and understand what the structure of these squads should be in the future and what is required to compete against the Australian regions. Everyone, from players to officials, have learnt a lot and focus will now move to implement some of these learnings in the lead in to next year's tour.
  11. Northern Pride 24 defeated Pacifique Treize 4 at Callendar Park in Innisfail on Friday night. Pride lead 16 - 4 at halftime. https://twitter.com/pacifiquexiii/status/1755905284135072031 Three solid results for a squad that only came together two weeks ago and played 3 games in 7 days.
  12. It's so refreshing to see there is a strategy in place and not only one for helping the clubs & competition now, but also one to grow the competition. The new Sky deal, BBC deal, TalkSports deal & announcement of SL+ have made the game more accessible than ever before. IMG & RLC are clearly aware that the game needs to grow both awareness & the supporter base and that the most effective way of doing that is to make it easier for people to consume it. Its hard to know if 3 years will be enough to achieve growth in those areas, but the game has to try. The short term strategies that include building simple news grids, coordinated announcements, introducing standards around fonts, colours & narrative, will at least help clubs better engage with their existing audiences, which let's be honest, are sizable but not activated as well as they could be. Ideal scenario, the two strategies fuel each other.
  13. Result isn't a complete surprise. Blackhawks are by far the strongest team in the region and were just too good at taking advantage of the errors Pacifique Treize made, especially in the first half. Score at halftime was 20 - 0 to Townsville. Still a positive learning experience for the team, with the squad also being rotated from Saturday's game. Team heads to Innisfail on Friday to play the Northern Pride.
  14. South Florida Speed have said in their Instagram story today that "Rugby League in South Florida will definitely make a return" Hopefully that means the club is returning to the USARL this year.
