Wonder if he'll head north

Recommended Posts

I don't think he'll go to SL yet. He'll get a "rest of 2016" deal at some NRL club. You have to wonder why a club, sitting 14th on the ladder, never picks him and is letting him go. A player with so much potential should be in first grade every week, if he has all the other qualities needed.

I should have added that, if he leaves NRL, he's early enough for the French and Japanese RU seasons. There's some clause in Japan's import rules that gives preference to non AUS/NZers and Hurrell was born in Tonga - which also makes him attractive to SL, I suppose.

Manu is being "touted" to Japan Union and SL too apparently.....something rotten at the core of the club.

He'd rip it in SL I reckon......add depth at hull or maybe even slightly east.

Hurrell has been rumoured to be attracting the attention of Catalans, at least for the rest of this season, because of the season ending ACL injury to Krisnan Inu. If that is true he would make a contribution to the Dragons' recently lacklustre attack.

With Willy Mason and perhaps Pat Richards likely to be returning to Australia in 2017, there even might be a place for Hurrell in Perpignan beyond 2016.

No doubt Hurrell would make a big difference to the attack at Hull KR as well if he was to go there.

On the plus side for the Warriors, I hope this is a sign that the management have told the coach that, "Enough is enough," from the players and anyone who isn't prepared to run through brick walls week after week can get on their bike.

The coach is hopeless. That is the beginning of everything.

Coaches can't win at that club. Sam Tomkins was amazed at what the players got away with. They need a drill-sergeant type, like Craig Bellamy, to clean the place out. They need a club owner to address the players and tell them the Coach is the boss and anyone who isn't delivering on the paddock is welcome to leave today.

A lot of their players should go on the open market. I think some would be surprised at how little interest there was from NRL clubs. Everyone "loves" Manu Vatuvei but, in the real world, how many NRL clubs would sign him?

The guy's a clown but he's got talent that doesn't grow on trees and no doubt they'll always be clubs out there willing to take a chance on him. Personally I wouldn't want him at my club.

Weren't a load of players banned recently for abusing prescription drugs. Something about mixing them with energy drinks I think??

Apparently he was just the designated driver in that incident. He has spent most of this year in NSW Cup so there had to be some other problem. Nobody picks Blake Ayshford unless they have to. (with all due respect to Blake)

Being reported he's going to the Titans.

The Titans have the most cap space so everybody is reported as going to the Titans. He probably will end up there but the terms of his deal would be interesting.

I'd welcome him at Souths's he's a real talent and Maguire would pull him into line fast.

He does have a mate and former colleague who has just returned from a long term injury at a well known North West SL club.

When he's playing well Konrad's virtually unstoppable, a beast of a bloke.

"it is a well known fact that those people who most want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it."

Sounds like he is the first "casualty" of Henry being involved with the club?

Whatever one might think of his appointment, Henry knows what is needed to be the best, and it is clear that the Warriors are far from it. I imagine Hurrell won't be the last either.

Yep, I think Henry has been brought in to do a clear out basically. It will be interesting to see who's next for the chop.

It could be a case of metaphorically shooting one, or two, or three, to encourage the others.

Wasn't Daniel Anderson that kind of coach? He had some success, but ultimately it went south for him.

They've reached 2 GFs, under Anderson and Cleary, but with the quality of players available to them, they should have done much better. Apart from those 2 years, they've only made the finals a couple of times.

It as been some time coming that one FD they have needed a cultural change for a while otherwise the additions they had this year would have had more impact!
