Leicester City 'Miracle' Would Be Totally Normal In Australia

Recommended Posts

You simply cannot compare Australian sport and the Premier League.

Salary caps and draft systems are great for sports with little global outreach like NFL, AFL, NRL etc but they would be a disaster for a top class football league.

The sport is too big and too global for this to be a possibility. If the Premier League went down the route of the AFL it would be a minor league within a few years because all the best players would leave for a different league. AFL doesn't have to worry about that.

The A-league might be a nice little league to watch but it'll never be a global player unless it scraps the salary cap.
