No change in the South West (with North Devon Raiders returning after failing to complete last season) but the West of England has doubled in size and is now split into 2 (arbitrary) pools.

Pool 1

Gloucestershire Warriors

Bristol Sonics

Bath & Wiltshire Romans

Oxford Cavaliers

US Portsmouth Seahawks

Pool 2

Cheltenham Phoenix

Forest Bulldogs

Swindon St George

Somerset Vikings

Southampton Spitfires

So the Bulldogs are barking at the starting gate! Wonder where they will play? GAG played a League 1 game at Lydney RUFC I think season before last. Wonder if Cinderford will feature too. Lionel Hurst's dream slowly becoming a reality - lets hope so.

Forest of Dean to make its much awaited debut at Swindon. A Gloucestershire enclave with a Welsh valleys feel. Will follow their journeys avidly. Go the Bulldogs!

Thought this might be the best place for it but Reading RL is trying to launch for 2017.  I'm exiled out in the Thames Valley and am helping out.  Hopefully getting a team out for the Brighton 9s this season and perhaps a friendly or two after that if numbers are good.  Training on King's Meadow on Tuesdays this summer, fundamentals and some touch rugby.

PR has been easy to come by, as the chairman has contacts with the local press, players not so much.  We've done some outreach with the local RU clubs as there seems to be a common thread that there are a number of Leaguies in Reading and central Berkshire who play RU due to lack of options.  Some clubs have been in touch in the West of England League, everybody has been very supportive thus far.

There is a  tag league in the area that might have some players from a league background

That Rebels-Sharks score-line looks promising. Cornish out-post coming together? Torquay, Exeter and Plymouth consolidating? Any chance of a couple of cross-over fixtures with West of England.

Bream RFU in Lydney

Thanks. I know it well.

We tried to get a team together before the Summer Conference got going.

Strong rugby playing area.
