A good kicker for us when he was on loan to us I cant remember him missing a kick however its all about opinions but I believe we need to get better centres and wingers than those Mark has guessed on THAT is where our weaknesses have been but I find all this speculation exciting to read.

Just an update to the piece in League Weekly linking us with Adam Sidlow, there was a piece in the Telegraph & Argus that seemed to pour cold water on that story:

Sidlow has another year on his contract but it is understood that the possibility of him moving on was recently discussed.

A recent report linked Sidlow with a switch to part-timers Featherstone – but the player insists he will be staying at Bradford.

"I've not heard anything about it," said Sidlow of the recent rumours. "I definitely want to stay here and try and get Bradford back into Super League.

"Hopefully we can assemble a squad that will enable us to do that next year.

"You need a variety of props and I'm one who can do long minutes, so I'll do that for as long as I can."

Don't think we see Matty Wilde

If so, the balance of the squad will need to be addressed. Wildie can play hooker or half-back, and as yet there is no cover for Briggs or Thackeray. I wouldn't mind seeing Milner back too, I think we would have beat Leigh at home in the league if he'd stayed on the field.

The D/R arrangement with Hunslet never took off, I don't think Matt Bramald is keen on it, but we do need fringe players to get a game elsewhere. and maybe he could go back to Keighley on loan until required?

Wonder if we'll try and sign sammut ??

I'm not altogether sure that Sammut is John Sharp's type of player? He has undoubted individual skills but what's his defence like?

I know this list is just a starting point but the 'outs' are looking a lot stronger than the 'ins' at the minute.

A lot of people said this around this time last year though didn't they? The recruitment for 2016 looked extremely unexciting to some fans and we had a list of people leaving as long as your arm but it worked out ok.

Also worth remembering that in the last couple of years a lot of the signing announcements haven't come until November or even December, there will still be a lot up in the air at the moment, for starters there will be about 25 players from whichever SL team gets relegated whose contracts will become null and void because of the relegation and that might have a knock-on effect on other negotiations.

Its definatly a lot stronger squad than we had at the end of last season, we would have been struggling to field a team in the 9s. Andy Ellis is a massive loss, but keal carlisle is 1 of the best hookers ive seen against fev this season, hes plenty of experiance and a lifelong Rovers fan who will give his all for the shirt. Thacks and Briggs partnership has had quite a bit of disruption this season, but theres signs of it been 1 of the best in the league. As it stands

Tansey/hardman

Briscoe

Ulugia

Misi

Turner/duckworth

Briggs

Thacks

Bostock/baldwinson

Carlisle/day/wildie

Cooper/Moore/griffin

Spears/roache

Davis/knowles

Tagg.

Pretty strong squad. Tansey and wildie can cover halfs, maybe need a bit if cover in back row and centre and wing. But looks well to me for this time of year.

Think his defence is pretty good - another one who tackles above his weight.

In his sole game for us a couple of seasons ago he played fullback and pretty much ran the show, directing operations from 20 yard back. This season, when key people have been injured, we have lacked a bit of direction. Hope we land him.

FEV FAN  1964 - present.

Sam Day needs a spot in the squad and needs to be used regularly. Because of injury and the reluctance to use him earlier this season we didn't see much of Sam. However he has shown his mettle since and deserves his place more especially if Andy Ellis retires.
