  1. It looked so innocuous…..around 43mins….. good luck to a quick recovery. https://www.youtube.com/live/29doCtZJyng?si=n3eUu65QIzx97Ksh
  2. What a huge blow for Else, team and coach - have to hope that Ridyard and McNally are on the mend…any news? Obtaining such key, experienced and good players, presumably for a reasonable period, cannot be easy at this time (perhaps the neighbours will be kind!?). Bradford, anyone? Good luck to all.
  3. A few more points first half for Hornets may have helped, but Oldham had too much experience and power to overcome an encouraging Hornets performance, particularly 1st half. Losing Else early in the game was a huge blow, especially without Ridyard and McNally. Hopefully this crucial trio will be available soon….? Hopefully too, a similar attendance (2000+) for the return game. Personally, I missed Hornets in our traditional red, white and blue strip, particularly with few such colours evident on screen in the stand.
  4. Rochdale Comic Con returns to Rochdale football this morning - no indication yet that Hornets will copy; meanwhile we visit Oldham tomorrow! https://www.redcapeevents.co.uk/ For
  5. Hope that we shall have a good turn out at Oldham in front of the cameras. Tonight Hunslet lost at home 14-42 to Keighley and Oldham will not wish to fall behind them. Hopefully we can spoil their party! 7. From the statement on the AFC forum: “To allow us the necessary time, we are making sufficient funds available to the Club to enable it to operate for the next 30 days. By the expiry of that period, we plan to have completed our diligence and formulated and presented our offer such that, assuming it is acceptable to the Club, we can conclude an investment before the end of the season. We will use this period to actively engage with all stakeholders, including the town’s political figures, creditors and sponsors to ensure they are prepared to play their part in ensuring the survival of the club. This period will also be used to formulate our future plans for both First Team and Academy operations. At this stage, we would like to set out the broad principles which will underpin our offer: Our sole short-term motivation is to ensure that the Club survives its current financial crisis and remains a going concern and a community asset with the interests of the community at heart; In the medium-term, our ambition is to assist the Club to become financially sustainable regardless of football success. We do not believe there is a silver bullet solution, but we hope our investment will give the Club the time (and resource) needed to properly explore the available options and then execute them as efficiently as possible; Our offer is not financially motivated. The shares we would acquire will be held in trust for the benefit of the Rochdale AFC Community Trust and our decisions will be made solely in the best interests of the Club and the community; We fully support the conclusions of the Fan Led Review – particularly in so far as they relate to governance and supporter engagement – and our offer will be consistent with their recommendations.”
  8. Hopefully, Ridyard and McNally will be playing against the neighbours - any news? Their presence would help to give us a good chance to return with a point or two and redress our annoying loss yesterday. Should be a cracker -hopefully some extra white and blue to mix with the red. The match is only one of 4 games on Sunday and good weather, which could mean a bumper crowd.
  9. A 24-26 defeat from a 10-0 start… 5 tries each to both sides; fewer conversions for us. Next….Oldham!
  10. Certainly could add some Oz spice for Hunslet and especially revisiting Boundary Park. “Rugby-wise, the trip couldn't have gone better for Emmerson, who played in every Rockingham game in 2020. They reached their Grand Final only to lose in extra time. He played for 105 minutes. Over in Cairns, he played in 17 out of 18 games in 2021. They won the league easily (by something like ten points), but were knocked out of the play-offs in the semi-final. He was also pleased to be rated 18th out of the top 100 players in the Cairns District League. He added: "It's been a good three years -- promotion with Roughyeds in 2019, beaten extra-time Grand Finalists with Rockingham in 2020 and Minor Premiership winners with Cairns in 2021. Over the two years in Australia I've played prop, second-row and loose-forward. I prefer the back three, but I can play 'middles' if I have to, as I did a few times at Oldham in 2019."

  12. Seems they gave their dual registered opponents Sheffield a good game in the 1895 cup - a bit of biff/dissent too, with each team a yellow! The 345 attendance would have looked even less on their stadium. Dave Hewitt and some big lads will need to be watched.
  13. Rochdale Hornets ……..since late c. 19**’s, but now afar from the town and sadly, its ongoing problems! For the youngsters: Hornets… one of the original 22 clubs forming the “Northern Union” 1895 and hopefully in posterum!
  14. Now a 2nd bidder. “– we’re a group of business leaders who prioritize transparency and accountability who are committed to seeing Rochdale AFC succeed.” https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/rochdale/forum/307132/another-interested-party../#38 https://www.thefootballclubllc.com/
  15. Splendid 60-22 win for Gregg’s testimonial year and for Hornets to take into the opening league game and beyond.
