  1. Swinton v Liverpool Stanley 1937 Warrington v Wigan match from1934 played in Shelbourne Park Dogs track. Newcastle Rugby League V Huddersfield from 1936 Played according to Trevor Delaney at Brough park Greyhound stadium. Liverpool, Dublin & Newcastle. From 80 odd years ago
  2. http://player.bfi.org.uk/film/watch-northern-union-challenge-cup-final-halifax-v-salford-1903-1903/ http://player.bfi.org.uk/film/watch-halifax-v-salford-1901-1901/ Two more bfi mitchell & Kenyon films, both Halifax v Salford Fantastic we have evidence of these games
  3. Both Teams played well salford weren't allocated a spot in the SL U19's due to the ' pre season issues ' , so were parked in the Championship U20's the previous season the Team got to playoffs but dell to stronger Leeds / Wigan teams. A fair few of the Academy has already taken to step up to first team action - Fages - Syned - Will Hope - Jon Ford - the Walne Bro's - Nial Evalds so the team that took the field featured the younger s players who have taken a step up from the previous seasons U18's future is with these lads as much as the . big - signings recently mentioned
  4. That Salford will be guilty until proven .. err guilty? I mean it wasn't just Agar blurting in a moment of frustration with no substantial proof was it ..
  5. Salford " will deny it " meaning they have no proof? Did he have the same opinion when "there were ways and means of doing things.” when he was in charge of Hull. Was Agar party to what Andrew Glover / Elston were doing to raise capital as it seems players were being offered rather than being tapped up ? Salford ( Koucash) haven't just invented / tapping up 3rd party approaches ? I's been the weapon of choice for the big clubs for decades. albeit they used a longer game plan . Koucash fault is that he has been glaringly open in his willingness to ' spend ' , this will have led to to every players agent under the sun approaching them. I feel for Wakefield & Agar , just as I felt for Veivers / McRae when we lost numerous quality players to bigger clubs , whilst under contract and to bail out the club.
  6. Like Ferguson , had a cracking season at Huddersfield , Carvell & George are solid buys too , if as rumoured Lee Gaskell is also heading Odsal way Bradford will have a tidy side next season.
  7. Gloucester , I believe , His Mum is involved in the admin at Uni of Gloucester All Golds , and I think his younger Brother is in their Academy. Big RL family. will have to curtail his DJ sessions at Sankeys Soap though
  8. I don't link a high scoring fixture , and the CC final that was littered with basic errors can be compared . Melbourne are GF & WCC champs and can turn in that sort of performance against most NRL teams but especially the Eels , who are in dissaray as a team defensively The Final was ' frustrating ' rather than terrible. the wet conditions added to the errors with so many promising passages of possession petering out , and it seemed Hull collectively choked when they were on the Wigan 20. Even then had Jamie Shaul's break ended in a try it might well have been the kick start Hull needed to boost their confidence to end the game on a bit of a high. There has been lots of comment about the Rhino Match ball behaving like a bar of soap in the wet , any truth in the comment the special run of Tetley sponsored Rhino Match balls was even worse?
  9. Statistically they are one set of dirty mothers they top the Red Card / Yellow Card Stats, and are 2nd only Hull KR in Penatties conceeded, their RFL disciplinary runs like war & peace , but mainly war . So yeah it's all a conspiracy ....
  10. tons of comps are called Superleague Netball & 750Bhp motor racing , so what , League is by far the most high profile after 18 seasons Maybe we should go back to being called Northern Union?, reading the Sean Fagan Book the Aus comp turn pro in 1908 and called the game...NSW( Rugby Football League) , urging the Northern Union to do likewise to distance themselves from the public school boys, it took until 1922 for the English to catch on. so common sense has never been a strong suite since it's inception. we could call the SL play offs the premiership.... the only thing wrong with Super League as a tiltle comp is the addition of a multi-national company - brand or financial institution as a prefix and some cash changing hands as part of the deal . ( Barclays ) Super League ( Nationwide ) Super League ( Powergen ) Super League
