  1. 'Daddy please get little Richie a job at your new business - i'm sick of him sat at home all day watching his ex wife on Springtime On The Farm' Or something like that.....
  2. Will Pryce came off injured in the NSW cup game - not seen any updates on it. Hopefully nothing too serious.
  3. Lol. Nothing like getting ahead of yourself. He's doing great - long may it continue. Then we'll start to talk about him being one of Raiders best players.
  4. Good business by Wigan again. They know the NRL clubs are looking so this works both ways - put French on a no doubt very good long contract and/or if his head does gets turned by the NRL, they'll be paying a decent transfer fee which they've become almost expert at guaranteeing.
  5. I agree to an extent. Top 5 or 6 SL clubs could more than hold their own in the NRL - a fact which isn't shared/appreciated by many commentators down there. I do think the gap widens after that though - clubs ranked 7-12 in the NRL are far and away better, when you look at the quality in those sides, than the SL equivalent.
  6. I admire your optimism and the point overall is still valid - but i'm not seeing 15 that could play in the NRL. I'd go 9 and that's including 'Irish' Liam Byrne.
  7. So it’s Heritage round in the NRL. Just watching the start of the Knights game and all players running out with their heritage flags - I saw KPP with the England flag, as you’d expect and then just as it was cutting away another England flag. At first I assumed it must be Will Pryce, but obvs knew he wasn’t down to play but after rewinding noticed it was Jayden Brailey. Apparently both parents were born in England. Arguably more grounds for England selection than Radley and he seems proud of that fact. Not saying he’d get in the England team btw, but maybe one to watch.
  8. I hate making the comparison because it's not always about that, but the 'Bunker' in the NRL gets it spot on in terms of speed, accuracy and explanation to the viewer. Too many of our video refs like the sound of their own voice and want the perception of being thorough, when actually they're just coming across as indecisive. Production levels comes into as well - i've no doubt the team delivering edits/replays in the NRL is multiple times bigger than the couple of blokes in a trailer Sky offer up.
  9. This is a really strange take. So the name and font used are what you take issue with? Have I read that right? I think O'Neills are positioning themselves perfectly to fill the whole left by ISC, in both SL and NRL. They're certainly my preferred kit manufacturer than say........Ox*n!
  10. It's worse than that sadly - Sky made a #### up. So they can show up to 3 games per round (excluding Magic when they show all). Someone in scheduling didn't realise this is still round 1 and as we already filled 2 slots with the Vegas games only one left this week. Panthers v Storm was selected as Friday slots generally do better.
  11. Least shocking news of the day - Smithies off for an HIA after 20 mins Hopefully he'll be back!
  12. Knights v Raiders the one to watch in round one, as far as British interest goes. Pleased Smithies has got the nod at 13 for the Raiders. Disappointed Will Pryce looks like he may get cut from the extended bench but KPP does look like he'll be playing off the interchange.
  13. Hastings doesn't need to be worried for me - or at least not from Pryce. They've got 4 quality half-backs in Hastings, Gamble, Pryce and Cogger. It's Pryce v Gamble and Hastings v Cogger for 6 and 7 respectively IMO.
  14. Yeah i'm wondering if there's some padding to be installed? There are a few examples of NFL stadiums where the back/sides of the endzone are pretty tight with the stand perimeter and they put quite heavy padding in. Often wondered why none has been designed for the likes of OT and DW where it's hardly a one-off event RL is played there, so surely beneficial to prevent player injury.
  15. This is tired debate that we'll never truly know the answer to, but in my mind it's pretty simple. The top SL clubs have proven they can compete with NRL teams in one-off games. How that translates across a whole season is the question - think Celtic and Rangers joining the Premier League. IMO - the top 4 SL sides would finish somewhere between 6th and 17th.
